Does the V6 Auto have Cylinder deactivation?

It has an open differential (a.k.a. - one wheel peel, one tire fire, etc).

The LGX engine in the 6th gen V6 Camaro does have cylinder deactivation and it is enabled on our cars. You can defeat it using a Range device or a custom tune.

(If your signature is correct, you have a 5th gen, and if that's the case, this answer does not apply.)

Yes I currently have a 5th gen but am thinking about trading it in on a new 6th. Thanks for the info!

Didn't another thread mention that Range devices are not designed for our V6?

The link in my post leads to V6 variants, here is one of them. Not sure if internally this is even different from their device for the V8, it might or might not, but they do claim V6 fitment.

I would drive one first. Not in a Camaro, but the V6 in my FWD LaCrosse (actually miss that car a bit) had AFM and Start Stop. Both were invisible to me. You could not tell when the car was in AFM mode. Unlike V8s that have been horrid. My first experience with AFM in a car was a CTF G8. It was horrible. 5th gen Camaros ended up with 5 flex couplings in the exhaust as I recall it was so bad.

Let me just say I have a 2022 vert with the 6cyl. 10A and it doesn't drop any cyls. But then again, they dropped a lot of extras with the chip shortage. It doesn't have the stop/start either. It's so easy to down 35+MPG.you don't even think about it.

My '17 XT5 has the 3.6 and has AFM. Same here, you can't even tell unless the "V4" light is on in the DIC! It also has start/stop that's barely noticeable.
The AFM in my SS is also not noticeable, again I can't even tell unless the "V4" light is on in the DIC, and there is NO noticeable cue when it switches into or out of V4 mode. I love seeing 30+ MPG doing 80 on the highway in a 455HP V8!

never did get why they went afm on a v6

there's no gas guzzler tax to avoid with the LGX

Don't. But if you MUST get a new Camaro jump up to a LT1 model. Just my unbiased opinion. LOL!

Manual transmission cars do not have cylinder deactivation and I prefer the lgx.

I haven't ruled out the LT1 but I am thinking I would rather have leather than a v8. I rarely use my v6 to its full potential. Also premium gas is 70 cents more per gallon where I live.
