"Available" 8 inch center dash display questions/discussion
Looking at the gauges in the dash, I really think I like the center screen with the aux. gauges between the speedometer and tach... However, I do notice that the dealer playbook says "Available"... Available on what trims?
I am guessing it will be standard on the 2LT and 2SS? Will it come with the RS package on the 1LT, and 1SS? Would be be standard on the 1SS? Separate option all together? If for some reason a guy didn't end up with this "Available" screen, what would take it's place? Anything? A normal monochrome DIC like the low end 5th gens? A color DIC? NOTHING? I feel like if nothing was there, it would make the gauge cluster really ugly looking... A little tiny DIC like the 5th gen would look out of place in my mind... Maybe an 8" monochrome dot matrix screen? Really, without being able to sit in one, at the moment this is my only concern with what I see could possibly be my only issue with the interior. thoughts? |

I'm betting 2LT and 2SS.
I like the screen. I think moving the information from the gauge pack to the display is a smart move.

I hope it's standard across the SS cars. And an option on LT. I don't want to HAVE to buy a 2ss just to get the screen in the cluster...I'm also curious as to what the other cluster looks like

Interesting word choice lol. But seriously it is a good question. We haven't seen the base radio either, so the two are tied together I'm betting or was mylink standard now too? If rearview camera is standard will have to have a screen for that at least.
My guess is smaller color display for the center cluster with features similar to the color DIC of the 5th gen.

This was one of my main concerns with the reveal..they're wowing us with the 2SS trim..but what if you get some weird radio shack interior on a 1SS? The dash looks like it was designed for the 8" center stack screen, will that be standard ALA the current 1SS/2SS?
The more I read about the options and see pictures..the more I get the feeling that 1SS owners are going to get kicked in the ass |

Agree with above. 2LT/SS. Doesn't really matter to me I guess. Buying every damn feature.

As far as the dash goes, I'm wondering now if the center section would be replaced by something that has two normal gauges for the fuel and tempreture and a small Driver's Information Center screen? Seeing the 8" screen, I can't imagine the fuel and temp read outs would work very good on a small 5th gen sized DIC? With rear view camera being standard on all trims, there must be a screen somewhere. I'm guessing the rear view would display on the mylink, even with the 8" screen option. Will the "nice" mylink just be turned into a dumbed down mylink with less widgets for the lower trim cars? Or will the car get a radio similar to the old 5th gen standard unit, and perhaps the rear view camera screen will be moved to the rear view mirror? |

I was wondering the same thing. I wonder what the base will look like.

The 8" in the cluster might be available but i think the 8" display in the dash is standard. Not sure why but that is the feeling i got after reading some of the lit.

Would make sense since the rearview camera is standard.

The base stack usually sucks with all models, Dodge, Ford, Gm and otherwise. Would be nice to see what it looks like though. Hoping these dual 8" screens are standard on the 2ss. Would be really nice if only the radio, not the cluster, is downgraded on lesser models.
The nice setup isn't standard on the Mustang GT either. Hard to find pics with the lower level setup but it's not great. |
