false statement. evident judging by the last thread you firebombed regarding such.

i hope the c8 rolls out and leaves red asses worldwide for many years to come. gm sucks at everything but high performance, how many decades of vehicle production will it take you fools to figure this out..?

It's absolutely wonderful...I have my ffl as a side gig & never expected to be able to run errands it requires in the ZL1. Laying the back seats down & being able to fit multiple packaged long guns is a blessing.

I live in a company truck & never even considered the Camaro could handle such storage & quite impressive....last thing I want to do after driving that bitch 300-400 miles a day is jump back in it for mailing off consignments after work or on the weekends!!

The Z51 has the tubular equal length headers VS to base model's cast iron manifolds. That makes the MOST difference on the 5HP increase.

I have one on order and have done a ton of research.
Point being the z51 gear cluster is optimized for road racing, it is a complete assumption that a road race gear pack makes for better 0 to 60, and that knowing the FD, still yields no data to judge.

Go info on header, now u just made the c8 more expensive for me

And there would be zero reason to change ratios to offset the shorter final drive. Literally no reason. If they did so why bother changing it at all...

The closer gear pack is very common for road racing...I do see less or maybe now no need for a closer gear pack. Still 3.6 to 3.8 is a vey small change

It can be. Or you can use the FD to accomplish the same thing. Generally you want to select your gearsets to match engine peaks so an upshift doesn't put you below peak torque. Final drives are very commonly changed then to suit the track itself.

The one thing shorter gears will also do is require another shift. Not as big of a deal with the DCT but I wouldn't be terribly surprised if the C8 Z51 hits 62mph in second gear like so many other cars to favor 0-60 times.

Agree here except a FD change can not fix a close ratio pack, at least upto say 5 speeds. the closer pack for a M-21 was to keep the engine in the rev range during shifts on a road course. I did give up take off the M-21 is a 2.20 first gear... since road races are not won on the take off, it was not an issue. Till you try to go up a steep hotel ramp with a car full of drunk girls and a huge cam.....

I agree. I have a feeling the C8 will be everywhere, and lose its "wow factor" as time goes on. I'm happy with my Camaro, and in a few years who knows what will be out there. The C8 raised the bar and the competition must respond to stay relevant.
