Pricing for 2024 Mustang Dark Horse is out. Here it is vs Mach 1:

Equipment Group/Option | 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse | 2023 Ford Mustang Mach 1 | +/–

Base price ...................... $57,970 ................................. $56,570 ......................... +$1400

700A ............................ $2,595 ................................... $2,095 ............................ +$500

Appearance Package ....... $1,250 ................................... $1,250 ............................ $0

Handling Package ........... $4,500 ................................... $4,500 ............................ $0

Recaro Seats .................. $1,650 ................................... $1,650 ............................ $0

10-speed automatic ........ $1,595 ................................... $1,595 ............................ $0

Carbon Fiber Wheels ...... $8,495 ................................... -------- ....................... ----

I suppose a $12,995 ask for the carbon fiber wheels and handling package is less than the GT500's $18,500 CFTP option and matches the 2020 GT350's R package. Then adding in another $1650 for Recaros... it's a big ask.

I cant help but think a combination of Ford knowing that no matter how they price it, it'll sell; added to the knowledge that sooner than later Mustang will be the only player left on the field. The later is quite predatory, but that's business, I suppose.

To the question of performance, with Mach 1 already giving GT350-ish performance, when equipped properly anyway, Dark Horse had at least be putting up GT350R numbers, when similarly equipped thereto.

I really hope that, the post 6th gen Camaro, Mustang doesn't fall into the same performance stagnation that happened in the early S197 ('05-'10) era.
Don’t forget the $1400 destination that Ford hides from its base pricing by waiting until the summary page during a build to add it in. That makes this $71k without the CF wheels. More than the msrp on my ZL1. Crazy.

Maybe I'm seeing different website layouts than you are but Ford, Dodge, and Chevrolet webpages all only show the "$1395 Destination Freight Charges" (Chevy), "$1395 Destination Charges" (Ford), and "$1595 Destination Charges" (Dodge) on all of their respective Build & Price pages for Mustang, Camaro, and Challenger respectively.

I think you’re right. It looks like Chevy does the same thing now by showing the base price without destination and gas guzzler; I’m pretty certain when I built my ‘21 ZL1 the destination and gas guzzler charges were included in the quoted base msrp price, and then options were added onto that for the total. I could be mis-remembering as that was over 2 years ago…

In Mach 1 It's the Deluxe package. The High package is 600A. It includes: aluminum pedals, climate controlled driver and passenger seats, heated steering wheel, memory seats, mirrors, and ambient light settings (3 memory slots), map back seat pockets, premier trim w/ colour accent group. In addition to the standard equipment.

Thanks for the info ... i wouldn't get most of the options.... even then pricing seem high, but when you think about the Camaro likely being gone, and the Dark Horse being some of the last manual transmission ICE cars left... it's makes sense.

No negotiation on pricing either..........at least not at Akins in Winder Ga. I took a buddy to pick up his truck last week and walked the lot looking at the Mustangs. Average price was $54K+ depending on the BS dealer add-ons. Salesperson said what you see on the sticker is the price. I LOL'd. The 2024 will be ridiculously overpriced for an extra 50 hp.

I'm still wondering how long it'll be before someone takes the dual throttle body intake from the DH and puts it on a GT350 and sees if there are noticeable gains. I know it's not a true dual plenum intake that would really benefit the FPC, but I can't help but feel like it has to be better that the one that come stock.

Another trickle of information released. MSRP for the EB and GT models is out:

2023 EB base coupe - $27,770 ... 2024 EB base coupe - $30,920 ... + $3150
2023 EB base vert - $33,270 ... 2024 base vert - Unavailable ... N/A

2023 EB Premium coupe - $32,795 ... 2024 EB Premium coupe - $36,445 ... + $3650
2023 EB Premium vert - $38,295 ... 2024 EB Premium vert - $41,945 ... + $3650

2023 GT base coupe - $38,345 ... 2024 GT base coupe - $41,495 ... + $3150
2023 GT base vert - Unavailable ... 2024 GT base vert - Unavailable ... N/A

2023 GT Premium coupe - $43,365 ... 2024 GT Premium coupe - $46,015 ... + $2650
2023 GT Premium vert - $48,865 ... 2024 GT Premium vert - $51,515 ... + $2650

Nothing yet on the cost of the X01A "HIGH PACKAGE", Performance Packages, Handling Packages, Active Valve Exhaust, or the A10 option (unavailable on EB models). And as always there is of course a "Destination" charge of $1395 that's always added to each as well.

I wonder how much the '24 Camaro pricing will change, if at all, vs the '23 models. If they can hold current MSRP they could prove VERY difficult to not jump on vs S650.

You can basically get there now.

GT Premium - $43,365
10-speed- - - - 1,595
GT 401A - - - - 2,700
GT Perf Pack- - 6,700
MagneRide - - - 1,695
Active Exhaust- 1,225
RECARO seats - 1,650
B&O-12 sound - - 995
Sub-total - - $59,905
Destination - - $1,395
Total - - - - - $61,300

If nothing but the initial MSRP changes for the '24's +$2650 (doubtful), this will mean $63,950. Barring any "AMV" dealer bull.

Ah, yeah. When I was debating between getting another Camaro or Mustang last year I was hitting right at 60k for a 401A/10spd/PP/MagRide/Active Exhaust/B&O. I never included the Recaros because they aren't heated/ventilated.

That means a 201A Ecoboost w/PP will probably be hitting around 50-51k since the 2023 201A Ecoboost HPP w/HP was 49k.
