Pretty nice. How did the car feel with slicks and radials up front?

It definitely moves around a lot more than the other car. I am waiting on one more front wheel from Weld. As soon as it comes in the factory fronts are history.

These are the hours that you can expect to be charged if you were to take your Camaro to Maxxdrive. I highly recommend them. My personnal experience was hassle free and the work done is of the highest quality.

Line lock install 3.5

Axle replacement 1.5

Solid cradle mounts 3.5

Rear brake conversion 2

Driveshaft loop 0.5

Remove and install exhaust 1

Shop supplies, etc. as incurred

We got one car up in the air today to start the converter upgrade!

We will also be replacing the driveshaft with heavy duty one from Chevrolet Performance (Part number 84398125). Surprisingly, it is only 1.3 lbs heavier! (24.8 vs 23.5)

As always, all the necessary hardware for the driveshaft was included in the kit!

The second car is finally up in the air at Johnson's Automotive in Shelby, NC for it's converter change! I have a test session booked at Shadyside for Sunday. I am really interested to see the results.

The converters are externally the same. So, no reason to compare weight.

The converters did not disappoint!!

Rear suspension, converter, and slicks.

All the Camaro Drag Program parts.

The loss of ET in both cars is probably due to heat soak. We did absolutely nothing to cool the cars between rounds. I didn't even pop the hoods to let heat out!

This is a video of the 7.36 run. (Turn up the volume!)

One notable thing. As the traction has been so good during our test sessions, we have bumped the back tire pressure up to 18 PSI! Looking at this photo, the slicks are still wadding up a bunch. If i have the chance, I will try one or two more PSI.

Fastest Street Car Magazine is doing a series of technical articles on this project. This is a link to the first one.

If you are looking to do some serious racing with your Camaro I would strongly suggest running with the NMCA. They treat everyone very well and the track is always in top shape.

I installed the headers on the second car this morning. I was able to cut a bunch of time by not removing the engine mount on the drivers side. All I removed was the valve cover, steering shaft, and the cover on the knock sensor. The knock sensor cover went back on before bolting the header in place.

The new intake system is also in!

This is the first side-by-side run for both cars! I ran against Robin Lawrence from Holley in a for-fun match race. The plan was to run a best two out of three, but the rain made this the only pass. The air was miserable and the times were way off, but we had fun! The next step will be to do some drag strip tuning.

This is the time slip for the side-by-side run at the LS Fest. Robin was in the right lane. He had a couple of issues as it was his very first run in the car. My start line antics probably had a lot to do with the left lane time. The weather was not good at all.

My pit space at the LS Fest!

Robin Lawrence trying out the drivers seat!
