Will upload another with the new summer tires as soon as this blizzard stops.
"Don't hate me bro!!!"

That being said because I'm the section spiritual leader of destruction. People having issues with the timer are not using the brake pedal properly. I'll see about making a video on this but if the brake is fully engaged when the car lurches a bit on build up for launch the timer will not start. Practice this on a hill if you need an example you're undoubtedly seeing hill start assist all the time. Try pressing the brake all the way down on the same hill then let off and even lightly press the gas pedal and it should not trigger hill assist if done right. I think these same systems may be interlocked in some way to what people are experiencing with the timer. I had the same issues way back when and learned on my own not thinking it was a trick.

Went to an 1/8th mile a couple of weeks ago, since I wasn't doing anything that night, and I was getting new tires the next day. The first couple of passes went alright, but I was taking it fairly easily with just aggressive street style starts since I wasn't sure how the track was prepped did a couple of 2.3 60' and 9.5 et. There wasn't any wheel spin so I upped the aggressiveness, bogged it at about 2700 rpm clutch dump. Then I did a 4k clutch dump, the car dead hooked and took off great, then it shut everything down because it detected clutch slip. I tried it again, and the same thing happened. So it seems like the clutch is the weak point, which is good.

not clutch slip. what you had was launch torque limit. it kicks in up to 12 mph. ensures your at about half torque, so you must have hooked well like you said. it can be disabled to tuned to advantage. if you do what I did and try launching in 2nd that's a whole nother matter and you will know what clutch slip is.

I did smell a bit of clutch when I got out and put my face down in the wheel well after the second time. And I got this error. Once I shifted to second, the car was happy again

Reduce clutch slip during

I can’t seem to do better than 6.4 with my 2.0 /8 speed. How are you guys getting in the 5 second area stock?

It's all in the launch and how your tires hook. Best I've seen stock is a 4.8s but those are rare to duplicate stock.

There are so many factors into a good 0-60 run.

-make sure the fluids are up to temp
-make sure tires are up to temp
-road surface matters
-need to build boost before launch
-need to find the perfect launch point (RPM)

Practice. A ton of practice.

So something weird that I found with the performance timer yesterday.

My Camaro (2020) has always defaulted to metric conversions to imperial units- so instead of 0-60mph, i could only get 0-62mph (which converts roughly to 100kph).

I’ve always found this odd, since it’s an American car designed primarily for the US domestic market.

But I figured out today that if you reduce the timer stop speed down to zero, then start counting back up, it will increase from zero in units of five- allowing you to get it to 60 instead of 62.

Tried the 0-60 timer again. No engine mods, only tires. There was no tire slip, so there's probably more left in it.

Nice time, but shouldn’t you let your engine warm up a little before thrashing it?

I just did 5.4 with my mods and the RS chip at 6. I could have done a better launch but I'm gonna say 5 is the prolly the best I'll be able to do without better tires. Also the chip at 6 feels a little unstable, everything is smoother with it off. I think I'll try it again at setting 5 and work on the launch. I'm happy with where it's at for what it is though.

With your setup, 5.0 is doable with practice!
