I must say I liked your pun a lot

While I never hesitate to criticize gm for various measures and decisions they take, this is hardly a fair point. They simply developed a better low side fuel pump after 2016 (for the ZL1), then eventually decided it's now better to only carry a single part and install it into all V8 cars, presumably because the associated cost premium has tapered off enough.

This should by no means be seen "screwing" us pre-refresh buyers, it's a natural side effect of continued development.

It is a tremendous blessing, popping off the intake manifold for LT4 injectors and LT4 HPFP is butter compared to dropping the tank for LT4 low side. Dream come true for anyone trying to add a little boost to a sbe LT1.

No doubt a boon for you post-refresh buyers

What did your fuel pressure tables look like in your stock tune? If you are not sure, I would like to look at your stock file.

You can always try adding a JMS to the LT1 pump. I don't believe anybody has tried it. As much headroom as the JMS adds to the LT4, it likely could give you enough additional support for what you are looking to do. The thing is you are not out any money if it doesn't provide enough low side. You just need to either get a LT4 or Hellcat pump.

I had this setup with the original LT1 low side plus the JMS, LT1 high side, Maggie 2300 at 7-8 psi, stock internals for a while at 560 rwhp, it worked fine. No E85 love back then, though.

I’ll have to look it up tomorrow when I get back home from work. Hopefully I didn’t replace a LT4 with a LT4. lol The part# changes make it confusing.

I did call the dealer and ask for the part# for my car as I was hoping I had a LT4 and the number given wasn’t. Now what I pulled idk. I may still have it buried in the garage somewhere…

Haha

I'm def not trying to break any records here. 575whp (25whp bump up) and I promise I'm happy.
I love boost but I respect how easily it can go off the rails and set someone back for 6 months.

I'm so glad Greg is documenting this Port Injection build step by step for us.
It's worked beautifully so far and seems like such a practical path to reliable power (once the cost is more reasonable of course)

Would be cool if Magnuson or Whipple would include a PI system with their kit for plug and play 650whp.

No more leaky auxiliary systems
No more opening the motor to upgrade internals
No more Meth nightmares

I'm speculating here...

When the 2300 came out PI was not a big thing then. The 2650 didn't really have room on the manifold. I was not a big believer in the PI in the beginning when it was becoming popular and I really didn't need it running race fuel. So, it took me some time to come around to it and now I'm all in after this setup and plenty of arguments with some on the board as a PI denier. Oh well some of us come around and I did and happy I did. Glad I could help other with some great info.
