Talking ZL1 1LE 6 speed gearing and rearend options

I have a 2022 ZL1 1LE with M6 transmission. I want to verify the gearing and rear-end ratio numbers:
#1 2.66

#2 1.78

#3 1.3
#4 1.0
#5 0.74

#6 0.5

3.91 rear-end

I am read-lining in 4th on the road courses(126mph) before the end of the straights. Are there any rear end gear options, 3.55, 342, etc?

Thanks for any corrections or suggestions.

with stock gears you should be hitting 135 in 4th at redline.

Smile High Speed on Road Course

Thanks for all the inputs. Shifting to fifth just before a 3rd gear 190 degree double apex turn is a little gutsy for me. I will give it a try earlier in the straight away. However the final drive of 3.73 is suspicious. There is no way I am doing 132mph, maybe 125 at the high end. I need some sort of after market PDR to check speed and RPM. I misspoke my max RPM is 6200 to 6500. I am a bit nervous about going higher I have already suffered a frozen lifter and 13 week repair cycle.

I also found different ratios for MH3/TR6060 depending on the model of Camaro and year so ???

I tried to paste results from a RPM/GEAR ratio/Speed/Tire app which did not work. I used 26.7 inch as a tire diameter.

The 3rd speed with a ratio of 1.3 and a different straight away is right on at 102mph and 6500 rpm with 3.91 rear end.

Motive Gear Performance Ring and Pinion Sets G886391
Ring and Pinion Gears, GM 8.6 in. IRS/218mm, AAM, 3.91:1 Ratio, 32-spline, Standard Rotation, Rear, Chevrolet, Set
Part Number: MGR-G886391

I could NOT find any replacement 3.73 gear for a Chevy IRS

Sorry for the rabbit hole.

List of ratios from TrueCar for 2022 ZL1:
  • Final Drive Axle Ratio 3.73*
  • First Gear Ratio 2.66*
  • Second Gear Ratio 1.78*
  • Third Gear Ratio 1.3*
  • Fourth Gear Ratio 1.0*
  • Fifth Gear Ratio 0.74*
  • Sixth Gear Ratio 0.5*

Unless your car is not a ZL1-1LE you have the MH-3 transmission which has the ratios I stated above. The rear diff contains a 3:73.
The ratios you have stated are in the ZL-1 which has the wide ratio transmission. The 1LE has the appropriate close ratio transmission.

I have nothing to contribute but I do have to say that is one HOT ZLE! What have you done to it? It appears to have some work done in the center of the carbon fiber hood insert or am I seeing things?

One other thing, you are looking at the incorrect gear set for your car. You have a 226mm Ring gear.
Reference above, Chevrolet service bulletin.
Many references including the sticky information on this site regarding trans ratios are incorrect. Lots of misinformation.

Since you’re in CA, you likely have the BCD brakes which are 398mm front vs 390 as shown in the service bulletin. Otherwise that bulletin should reflect all ZLE’s.

Thanks for the response. At 77 miles I drove it to CALLAWAY in LA to add their SC750 option. This requires a cutout and shaker hood mod. Very professional and clean. Runs about 665 RWHP.

the sc750 option advertises at 750hp.... are u saying that's to the crank? If so u can get more HP to the wheel with bolt ons.. im running headers/ maggie 2650r/ big gulp cold air / ron davis heat exchanger, and a tune i make 729hp to the wheel... I'm thinking you might've paid a little extra just for the key fobs, mats n badges... i'd rather have the hp.. Does it add value ? being a callaway camaro? Like a Hennesey? Also mind if im a bit honest? It just looks like theres a hole in ur hood... And like its missing the big supercharger coming out of it? it has a gen3 callaway supercharger? im guessing they've gone so far as to engineer their own ? How does it stack up against a magnusson? I do like the 3 year warrantee... was their an option to extend? Can u show us pictures of the badging? Can u take the car to any GM stealership for the warantee or is it something u have to go back to LA for ?

So this is really interesting to me as I’ve never heard of a Callaway Camaro. Knowing the quality and engineering of Callaway cars as well as the fact that it retains the OEM DEALER service tells me this is the gold standard. 50 state legal, very impressive. Although not mentioned in the literature, it makes me wonder if Callaway may have changed your gearing. My impression was that you had an OEM vehicle.

No offense, but you are comparing a car you bolted on parts to a properly engineered car that has factory validation. They are on opposite sides of the planet in terms of value. Comparing Hennessy to Callaway is like comparing the parts guy at Summit to an engineer who deals in supply chain on an F1 team. One is a marketing scheme aimed at easily manipulated adolescents and one wins the worlds most coveted Motorsport. You get what you pay for in this case.

Does Callaway use one of the big 3 blowers (maggie, Whipple, eddie)? I can't imagine that they developed their own.
