UPDATE:
Oracle was very responsive to my concerns as always, and replaced my side markers with a new one.
No sink marks and paint finish was superb.
They sent me the replacement parts and I shipped them back the old ones after inspecting the finish.
I am very happy with the final product and their excellent customer service.




ORIGINAL POST

Finally received my much anticipated LED side markers from AAC today and had it installed tonight.
Installation took me about 15 minutes.

Here's how it looks;

As much as I like the LED markers, I'll have to be objective about the finish of the surface.
I work for an automotive supplier and I'm very familiar with plastic molded parts and I gotta say, I'm disappointed with the quality of the product.
As you can see in the pictures, the surface has noticeable sink marks on the very edge on all 4 markers, and some in the middle.
Either they didn't do a good job at getting the parameters right with the injection machine, or it was poorly designed.
But once installed it's not as visible and I guess I can live with it.
The fit was very good and LEDs definitely look very nice.
All in all, I'll give it 5 out of 10 just because of the surface imperfections.

Man those marks are very disappointing. I hope they fix that issue. Maybe offer to return them for a proper set. That would really annoy me. I would advise others to wait and see if they sort out the mold.

Glad you agree with my opinion.
Yes, they need to take care of the issue.
In injection mold, this is considered 'defective parts' and should be scrapped in OEM standards.

I ordered the first day of the group buy. I bet this is why we haven't seen any white ghosted ship yet. I bet you can really see the indent in the lighter colors.

Thats bad. Tool needs to be fixed for sure or they all will look like that.

I wonder if it's the tool design or they didn't get the parameters straight.
Either way, I sure hope they fix this.

Yeah, that looks pretty bad. Definitely send them back. The fit around the edges doesn't look very flush either.

I'm waiting for the Diode Dynamics to come out. Oracle products have never impressed me.

Got mine yesterday from the Group Buy through AAC and it wasn't until this thread was brought to my attention that I did a second look. When they arrived I didn't immediately open knowing I wouldn't be installing anytime soon but looking at them closely the paint is perfect and the divot is there but mine is in the middle of but only one light and it's not that bad or readily noticeable. For $400 they should be perfect and have the fit and finish as OEM but I think I'll be able to live with it, it's just a very small indention I suppose from the heat exchange in sealing to two halves together.

They look great on the car. I'm gonna get some, but not if that issue isn't fixed. I hope that Oracle see's that as an issue, replaces yours and fixes the problem. Four blue bills is a lot, if they were $150 I wouldn't mind so much. For that price, I want perfection.

Got mine yesterday too. Same color just tinted and they have the same divot's too. Not sure what i am going to do yet. I talked to a friend that has them on his 5th Gen and his has the same divot's too. He said they are all like that.
