Factory Catch Can vs Aftermarket

Knowing that GM has applied their full engineering team analysis and design to the LT4 Catch Can; Has anyone compared the performance of the Factory Catch Can with an Aftermarket Catch Can?

(BTW I understand that the factory system back feeds into the oil pan and regular oil changes will take care of this and does not need to be addressed).

Thanks

The factory system is on the "clean" side between the intake and the valve covers. The aftermarket systems sit on the "dirty" side between the PCV and intake manifold. They are two different systems. There is lots of information in the forum about aftermarket catch cans and how they work.

Thanks Mark,

I know how very well the systems work.

I'm looking for some real life "validating" T&E Performance Data to compare the systems.

Performance data? Sure. The clean side filters oil vapors from the clean side. The aftermarket catch can that goes on the PCV side catches oil vapors from the PCV side and requires a drain back, or emptying.

Real life data. Yes, my aftermarket catch can removes oil vapors from the PCV side. Yes, I have a small about of residue between oil changes. Had I not installed the catch can, that residue would be coating the inside of my intake manifold and coking on the backside of the valves.

All of which has been beaten to death in numerous other threads.

Before aftermarket catch can @ 1,8XX miles. Yes, that's oil dripping from the PCV tube inlet.

After 1500km 35ml of oil vapor/residue.

I believe the OP was addressing the LT4? According to Elite Engineering, it is very different from the LT1, to which I think you are referring.
