Can't decide on a color and options for a zl1
I'm going to be placing a factory order for an a10 zl1 coupe soon but I can't decide on a color and options. I'm thinking of getting summit white with navigation, but I also like the look of other colors, also can't decide if I want cf hood extractor, instrument panel or red seat belts. What do you guys think? Any pics of those?

I’m in the same boat, trying to decide what options to purchase. I’m going to ride in a ZLE to see how bad the ride is. If I buy a ZL1, I’ll want to add the 1LE nose pieces. I’m thinking Rapid Blue or Black. Rapid Blue for the in your face look or Black because they look real mean. I plan to load either one up. A10, navigation, red belts, red knee pads, carbon dash, ZLE wing, car cover, data recorder, carbon shift knob, embroidered console lid, cargo mat, battery protection, etc. No sun roof as I hate them.

Color is subjective; I'm partial to Riverside Blue Metallic, but Summit White gives the car a clean design type look (which I like). Satin Steel looks great in person and has good depth. Wild Cherry Tintcoat stands out from the pack without being the plain/boring Fire Engine Red. Shadow Grey Metallic is another one that stands out; Grayish-Blue in most light, but also has some green to it. It is gray, without being "plain and boring silver". My 2019 Malibu Premier was Shadow Gray, and I liked it. Vivid Orange and Rapid Blue don't do anything for me personally.
I had the latest Nav in my Malibu and we now have it in my Wife's Acadia AT4. It is nice; clean and simple interface, integrates with the vehicle very well. However it is hard to beat Apple Maps, Google Maps, and Waze for being up to date (maps, road closures, etc). Furthermore, I feel like Apple Maps has about the best routing algorithm right now. GM (or whoever they use for routing) just doesn't have the development bandwidth like Apple and Google have. With that said, I didn't purchase the Nav option with my 2021 and I don't miss it. My opinion on the carbon fiber parts is "meh". They don't save much weight (if any at all), and they don't significantly change the look of the car. The factory-standard parts are nearly the same color already. Now if you look at the V3 Cadillac CTS-V and the new CT4-V BW and CT5-V BW; their carbon fiber packages drastically change the look of the car; body lines, color contrast, aero benefit etc. Worth it on those cars in my opinion. Hope this helps. Cheers. |

You already posted this same (or a very similar) question this week. It has 2 pages worth of replies.

Your post reminds of a thread on the Corvette Forum many years ago where someone was trying to decide on colors, options, etc. One of forum member responded with a picture of 3 beautiful women in bikinis, (Brunette, Blonde and Red Head) and said pick one.
The bottom line is you can't lose, you just have to make a decision and go with it. If you want an opinion, I prefer Black, Satin Steel and Wild Cherry. Summit White is not as aggressive looking as some of the other colors but still looks great. All the other ZL1 options are kind of nice to haves. Nav can be done on the CarPlay/Android Auto, CF insert depends on whether you like CF, etc.

I already have a Dusk Blue 69, Bright Red 92, Black 94 and a Hugger Orange 99. Either the Rapid Blue or Black will fit in nicely regardless of your opinion. |

IMO the ZL1 looks great in any color.
The giant black grill and hood extractor makes any shade look good. For instance rapid blue on a non z is over the top. The abundance of black bits on the Z really create a nice contrast. Summit looks good on an ss but looks great on a Z. The Z is a great canvas for any color... |

White is a very popular color and it will be easy to take care of. This is coming from a person who only buys black cars. Any color looks great. Just look at the recent post of indecision over red and blue.

To the Op, you order a ZL1 like you want and then you won’t regret your purchase. That’s my advice to you! Good luck.

I second LT4Greg.
I chose black because I feel it looks the meanest. I don’t regret my decision one bit but of course to each their own. They all look great. It’s a great looking car. |

A lot of colors look good on the ZL1 but in my opinion black looks the most sinister and mean looking on this car. At the end of the day it's up to you, for what it's worth worth look up pictures of different colored ZL1s and make a comparison and decide from there. You could also look for ZL1s around local dealer ships or even car shows if they are there and judge the different colors in person to help with your decision.
