Buying Canadian Spec
Hello all, appreciate any advice on this one. Looking at a local Camaro 2SS that has low mileage and 1 owner. Very clean. The only thing I realized is that the speedo is the Canadian spec KM/H. Obviously it reads both and is possible to take the dash apart to change that if desired but I wondered if there is anything else to worry about? It was exported to Ontario once purchase, driven there and since imported back and titled here. Apparently warranty and everything is valid thru GM. Any concerns? I do not want any issues with fitment etc in the aftermarket world but feel everything should be relatively standard since all built in Lansing.
Thanks |

I have heard a lot of stories of cars being deported out of Ontario... like the car might have it's mileage rewind and maybe some accidents that have not been reported...
Being in Québec here are a lot of small dealers who would happily buy those cars for cheap and sell them at the nor am price to make a lot of profit. I am not saying all the cars are like that and that Ontario is bad, not at all, but some car experts here always recommand to buy cars that have only been registered here or at least one that have been registered in Ontario only and then transferring it ourselves to make sure nothing is hidden. But regarding your question, if it is a Canadian A Spec car, it might have some differences related to lights rules and stuff like that, but it mostly is the same than a US spec.
