Upset prices are so expensive for new parts
I was all excited to add Lingenfelter parts to our Camaro to match up to my LPE C6. Well, once I saw the price points looks like I will not be doing it.
Grill - 749 dollars just a plastic single part with LPE emblem Sideskirts - 1500 dollars I am used to LPE being expensive but damn... |

I am pretty frugal and like to get a lot for my money. I could almost buy a hood just for the cost of the grill. I love the grill but over 700 dollars for a bug collector on my wifes DD, um No..lol

It is just the way it goes. I believe the single cheapest mod i have done was the light blackouts for about $50. Nothing else has been cheap.

I do not mind paying for items nor do I expect it to be cheap but not close to 800 dollars. I know our parts are not cheap either but I do my best to keep them reasonable so people can have more $$ to buy more items.

Lucky for me, most aftermarket parts look like they were designed by an 8 yr old using Go Speed Racer Go as inspiration, so there aren't many I want to begin with. And it also helps when you have a stock car that still looks completely bad ass, makes it easier to turn down overly priced add ons.

It's obvious that these parts are STRICTLY intended for limited production and targeted toward a certain market.
Who knows their manufacturing processes and the costs involved? Do they produce 1, 5, 10, or 100 at a time? Of course, if they produce 100 at a time the end prices go down as costs also go down due to volume. But I don't think they expect to sell many of these.

But to OPs original point, the prices for parts on these things is RIDICULOUS. The only reason it happens though is because there are people that are paying it. As soon as a collective group refuses to pay it, the prices change. For example, that one grill that was introduced last year at I believe $5,000+??? Gimme a *&*@ break. Once that price was laughed off the forums, it was mysteriously lowered to about $1,200; which is still laughable, but now people are paying it so it will never go lower. Easy to see that had nothing to do with manufacturing parts. It was an exclusivity thing. This is one thing the Mustang crowds have going for them. It is for this that a majority of my time is spent in the Member's Classifieds section looking for my next "hand me down" used part. Oh yeah, and seen pics of his car??? I've seen pics of his girl....buy the parts LOL
