looks like an el camino Ferrari once it flips around. Not a fan of that car at all.

That is some fancy technology right there. I don't think it would work with the camaro's body line in trunk. Though I wish it could. I would buy a hard top convertible the second it was offered.

This is one of those things Ferrari can do...you know, since they aren't exactly in the business of mass-producing hundreds of thousands of cars a month and also don't have four brands to supply R&D money to.

When you can charge $300k+ for a car you can be that innovative. The day the Camaro is that innovative is the day we all can't get one.

It is innovative, its not that hard to do, Only works if the car is a "targa" style.

Are you guys saying the Pontiac G6 (or whatever it was witht he hardtop convertible) was so much easier to engineer and implement. That thing has like six panels that have to fold perfectly with out making the car weigh an extra 1000 lbs, introducing glass into the equation, and keep it working without binding over the expected life of the car, which is typically 10 years, operating the mechanism (up and down) 3 times per week. It seems relatively easy to make the top back.

Good golly they should have been able to throw a couple of headlight motors left over from the 456 on the back and called it a morning.

Now the Ford MySYNC......

Not 100% true.

For the European market, Honda did a similiar vert with the Del Sol

Just my .02...

People need to quit wishing for a hard top vert on a muscle car....it's not happening. Cars like the Del Sol are so small the added weight is minimal. The Ferrari....well....when your paying a 250k+ price tag....carbon fiber is your friend...

I bet all that mass in those lifts helped the weight distribution.

Did they just install the front end of a fork lift in the trunk of a del sol to remove a targa top?

Very cool vid. I love hard tops. Not sure how they would do one on the camaro but I'm sure they could come up with something if they wanted to. And I'm sure they could make it affordable too.
