AFM Active Fuel Managment and DOD Displacement on Demand are the same thing. Terms are used interchangably..

You will lose a couple MPG turning it off, but who cares. The sound it makes in 4 cyl mode is very annoying and much more noticable w/ LT and Catback.

That's debateable as I lost only 0.2-0.3 mpg on average over a month of normal driving.

I'm still very confused. I don't notice a difference at all. I have LTH, S type catback and NO CATS. I STILL don't hear anything really bad. Unless I'm just crazy.

I never EVER noticed it going into AFM mode anyway.

You should have noticed it stock... maybe you're shifting too fast...

When I got my custom tune from Jannettey it was turned off. If I recall you did a flash tune from Fastlane or someone.. I guarantee they turned it off.

BTW... your avitar is VERY distracting...

I can hear and feel it in D or S. In M mode (paddles) it's hardly noticeable! especially if you keep the RPMs up.

That's because you probably got a headers and a tune at the same time your DOD was turned off...

Gives me the advantage in a debate. lmao

But T&T is doing mine. On a SCT handheld. I e-mail him the tune and he can tweak it.

If you have an aftermarket tuner and exhaust, odds are it's been turned off. The L99 cars we've had in the shop that wanted the DOD/AFM kept on when we did an aftermarket exhaust could not stand it. When the car runs in four cylinder mode the aftermarket exhausts just don't sound right. We use the SCT, HP Tuners etc. to turn it off.

For what it's worth right now we haven't really seen any fuel economy difference with DOD/AFM turned off.

I've deleted the DOD/AFM/VVT on 25-30 cars/trucks so far. I have not heard one person say they wish they hadn't done it. Everybody loves their cars/trucks without it.

It's also mandatory if you want to run any camshaft that's actually worth a crap.

That's great so you got Trans tuned also...

I always hate disagreeing w/ the expert buuuut, I can guarantee you there is a MPG hit. I've tested on two different cars with the Diablo and JRE tune both with and without headers.

The Headers and Tune make up for the losses from turning DOD off so it's a wash...
