Good idea.

The GTR makes up a lot of ground where it can use its power advantage. The Camaro out handled it on a tight track where neither car could hit their top speeds.

Super video and kudos to Chevrolet and the Camaro team. This was the ultimate compare and when the Z28 beat both the GTR and the turbo Porsche, it was hard to believe.

Yes, the GTR is hugely faster than the Z on the drag strip, but isn't that more because of the 4 wheel drive than pure horsepower? I wonder how badly the GTR pulls on the Z once the launch is over? I'm thinking longer straightaway tracks may not make much difference in the comparative performance.

That was a great video, now GM just ship a faster Z/28.

Today I just heard a GT-R dropped a transmission at Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, WI last year from one of the strip crew out by the Christmas Tree.

Great video! At first I thought I was watching Rutledge from Top Gear.

Yeah was a little harsh IMO.. Maybe he was just a crappy driver back then.

My only gripe is that they basically had to strip the Z/28 down to nothing to achieve some of this performance. The GT-R still has its LED tails and projector HIDs, Navi, Bose system, A/C etc... I mean they even took the 4 pack gauges out!!..I wonder how much better is the Z/28 than the ZL1 on the track and head to head to see if its worth losing some of the amenities...still great win for Camaro!!!... I love win American muscle beats imports

The tested Z/28 had AC and Stereo. The other items you list have very little additional weight. Oh the head to head was done long ago at Milford.

Well there it is!!!... The Z/28 murdered the rest on the track!!.. Thanks for the info.. I want more power than my SS, but something that you can take to the track every now and again and still have some of the amenities that we all like... If I had the money I would own the Z/28 just for the track!!!
