Preventing scratches and chips in paint?

I have seen it talked about here in the forum about front end clear "bras" to protect the front of your cars paint.

But there wasn't much detail about it, an have or know anyone who has it done? Does it work? Can you tell it's on? I don't want the color offset but nor do I want chips and damage to my paint...

Any insight would be appreciated, thanks

talk to thom aka htp autoworks on here. He installed mine and did a great job. I have a black car and it is hardly noticeable. A great investment to avoid the rock chips.

Thanks guys, will do. Noticed a minor scratch yesterday when waxing, my heart skipped a beat. A whole month strong driving in a state where hardly anyone knows how without any, then I find one. :'(
