Exactly. Even as recently as 2002 the SS was the beefed up suspension and bigger wheel trim but you could get the Z28, the lower trim without beefed up suspension and wheels, with leather and all the options.

If they still followed the 4th Gen trim and option tiers, that’s exactly what I’d have.

The LT1 is the base street/drag model.
The 1SS is the base street/track model.
The 2SS is the luxury model.
The ZL1 is the luxury hp model.

It's not complicated.

Everyone thinks it's cool to option a 1SS, but retarded to option a LT1. Makes no sense...

Just do away with the 1SS is what I’m saying! I can remember back when they had the LT model of the Camaro during the 2nd gen Camaro. It was more for nicer amenities though as compared to the Z28 and SS and you could still get a 350 V8 in them.

The thing is, you don’t need a track model period. At all. Or, make the track stuff a package deal option

No, you really don't. It just seems like some people insist it is the end all/be all for Camaros and you're an idiot if you don't buy one.

Those people are what the 1SS is for. I'd agree with you. Make the LT1 the 1SS
and check 1LE box if you want a complete track package.

And that blanket statement was for myself and I know exactly what I want and do not want and what I need and do not need. Too bad some people took that as an opinon that would apply to everyone.

I’ve also seen many posts on the LT1 is all that’s needed and you’re an idiot if you “waste your money” on anything more. I have no idea why there’s a pissing contest on this issue. Buy what you want and enjoy it. You like your LT1 and it fits what you want the vehicle for then it’s a win win. I like mine and it suits me. I could care less about the wasted money. Lol

I think everyone would agree that overall sales would be better if you could get the V8 in any combination of stripper or fully loaded options without the requirement of hard core cooling and tires being a requirement anywhere in there.

Personally I don’t think sales would increase enough for it to matter anymore. Not unless they actually put an add campaign behind it. I like the hard core cooling and tires as it’s my track/weekend fun car.

I'm pickin' up what your layin' down, bro. You like to go around in circles and I like one trip down. Your ride needs different equipment then mine does to do it right.

Everyone needs to stop saying the other is a moron for not thinking their way and buying what they bought.

LT1 is just like the old Fox body LX 5.0 Mustangs.

No glitter & glam
