Did yours consume oil and was yours a 19+? Did Ford take care of you when you reported it?

Have you considered a Mach 1? I have been looking at them a lot myself, and the 1LE as well.
You mention not caring about handling, so the downgrade in that area may not be a negative for your use case. Limited Edition, but not a 'special' engine, Coyote is still great and arguably much more reliable than the Voodoo. Also gets the great Tremec M6, and sounds great. I think it would give you a less settled platform in the sense it would be more fun to drive on the street. A used 2023 isn't too far off in cost to your 2SS as a ZL1 would be, but it isnt a GT350 either.

What’s appealing about coyotes is they are far more robust when adding a bunch of power than the voodoo/Lt1. Don’t have to worry about piston ring end gaps kissing in them.

Hey just throwing this out there… if you drive in track mode and find it boring, switch to sport instead. Track mode makes the throttle more linear and some might feel like it’s less powerful.

imo keep the 1LE and just track it / drive it more spiritedly but safely of course.
the mustang chassis and steering is just subpar in terms of quality but also capability vs. the camaro, and that alone makes it a non-starter. Sure that gt350 5.2 motor is amazing, but it's far less proven / reliable compared to the 6.2 LT1. On the flip-side, if all you care about is straight line acceleration / sound, gt350 could be more suited to you.

The Tremec and the Coyote combo is a real good one. The not so special nature also helps with price from what I have been seeing.

I've driven mine friends 2017 gt350 a bit and done some autox runs in it. I do love the sounds it makes. And he does outrun me in a drag race. Autox my camaro is always alittle quicker, would like to do laps back to back on a road course with them to see how it feels and times to my 1le. But i do prefer my ss 1le overall to it. The Camaro just feels better to me in all aspects. But it is a great car forsure.

While I have driven it in sport, the last few weeks I threw it in track to see if it felt more fun. Unless I’m not remembering correctly, my standard SS in track mode from 3500 rpm would pull real hard when I stepped on it. The 1le however feels way slower/more tame. I am going to try it out again in sport next week. I was wondering if the throttle mapping is different between the standard SS and the SS 1le. I have turns all the Nannie’s off in case that was the issue.

Someday (just not TO-day) I'll figure out how to post videos. Until then a screenshot referral will have to suffice. Check out this fellow as he demonstrates proper SS 1LE rowdiness. This guy is a hell of a driver in whatever he pilots but you get a pretty good idea of the 1LE capabilities. Those familiar with AZ Motorsports Park know that a 1:44 lap is SMOKIN' quick! I know y'all have heard of that throttle control thing that makes the throttle very aggressive.

Is it possible you're remembering sport mode in the SS? I'm asking because track mode on my SS has perfectly linear pedal mapping, and we easily get desensiitized by sport mode where early pedal travel matters much more, e.g. 25% TPS translates to opening the throttle blade to at least 50-60%.

I tried ptm sport 2 and track to see if I could get it to be rowdy. Also I’m on all seasons. Granted they have full tread but I’m shocked it can’t spin the tires in first from a roll. Sometimes I can get them to spin only if I go WOT right where the LT1 makes peak torque. I never “have fun” until the tire temp indicator has been blue for a while or I usually wait till green. I used to wait awhile in my 16 as well because I don’t think it’s safe to go wot on cold tires.
