HP Tuners Newbie

New to datalogging and HP Tuners,

I Just ordered HP Tuners and a AEM Wideband for my 2018 ZL1. Before I do any upgrades, I wanted to data log my current stock file, as its stock except for a green filter and ported TB.

Is there a additional list of parameters I should data log besides the following:[LIST]
RPM
AFR
Throttle Position
Spark timing
Knock
Intake Temperature
Map
MAF
Speed
???

Down the road when I do modifications, I'll have it tuned by a professional for sure, I'm just getting my feet wet with the data logging for now.

Thanks

Head over to HPTuners Gen V section. There are a whole lot more I'd add...

MAT
ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION
MPH
ENGINE TQ
PREDICTED TQ
IMMEDIATE TQ
BUSRT KNOCK
KNOCK FOR ALL CYLINDERS
GMVE
O2s
so many more, eventually

You should search for Graphs to use, too. Also - try Goatrope Garage. He's got a good playlist of a lot of basic and some more advanced stuff. There are many ways to skin a cat, but he starts pretty easy to understand.

It was easier to tune Gen III stuff in the past. Now - there are torque controls to blend in and there are still plenty of stuff we don't yet have access to. There's enough to get a car running well though.

I'm not close to an expert or anything like that. There are plenty of helpful people though. You have to do the research, because you're not going to get all your answers in a post or thread.

Agree with @radz28! Definitely add:
Desired fuel pressure
Actual fuel pressure
Commanded rail pressure
Actual rail pressure
Injector pulse width

Thanks all
Yes there are some great videos with GoatRope and HP's site.

Question are the 02 sensors only there to monitor the cat's ? do they have any input on the tune itself ? I thought the tune was based primarily on the MAF and MAP info..and RPM , pedal etc...

Front O2 sensors will trim the fuel at part throttle. They are ignored at WOT. The rear O2 sensors are monitoring the catalytic converters performance.
