Should I email my saleswoman/dealer and let them know I heard GM will have consensus twice and allocations this June? My saleswoman is a car girl, so she understands my crazy. At this point i'm comfortable emailing her anything...she's patient and cool.

They will know if they get an allocation. Just touch base with her and tell her that you've heard allocation for 2021 has been extended. Just have her let you know if they receive one.

Im sorry I am completely new to this whole ordering thing. Does this mean if I placed an “order” on may 5th I could still get a chance at a 2021? My salesperson doesn’t seem to really understand the whole allocation thing.. not much hope for this order..

Hate to be that guy, but this is a giant red flag. What else would a salesperson's job entail than knowing the ins and outs of purchasing and ordering? It's not like you asked them about the difference in airflow between an OEM 87 mm and a ported 95 mm throttle body or something...

Try the sales manager, and if their answer isn't satisfactory, as in, giving you proper and reliable information with in-depth understanding on their part, you'll need to find a decent dealership.

Most sales people know nothing about the ordering process. That's why a lot of dealerships have folks like me that handle ALL of the ordering. Sales people have enough to worry about and ordering and allocation isn't some easy task for them learn.

Yes, if your dealer receives another 2021 allocation.

Isn't it all about VINs?...Once vins are issued for 2022s, 2021s will eventually end at some point...The production stop/start dates are their best guess...Once they run out of 2021 vins they can't legally build anymore if they have vins for 2022s coming up...??...Something like that as I recall...Just a thought...

I emailed her last Friday night and she responded today saying the plant is still closed, no date on re-opening but when they do it will be 2022.

oh boy...

Hi all. I'm new to the forum as well as the camaro world. Been wanting one since they came back out with the 2010 model and was finally able to order one at the beginning of April (great timing right). My dealership told me that they still had allocations for the 2021; however he did not want to take a deposit from me until the order actually got picked up by GM. As I'm new to the ordering thing, I wanted to know what the likelihood of mine getting picked up given the plant is set to reopen on the 21st and I put my order in the first week of April? How long was the wait on your guys orders to get accepted? He had also told me that I was the only camaro order that dealership had currently so it should be the first to get picked up and was surprised it hadn't been picked up yet. Thanks for your help!

I don't see any Factory incentives again this month, not that it matters at this time. But I'm hoping all this blows over after things are back on track. I really need that factory incentive to make my numbers work. Especially now that I will have to travel to Detroit from NewHampshire to pickup my car, or have it shipped. Most likely shipped now because of winter months.
I just wish I already had my Friggin badass car.
