Meth Injection?
Thinking about adding Meth injection kit just as a cleaning a solution for the
intake valves. The kits for sale, along with their initial claims, indicate that it cleans the intake and valves, in their descriptions. I can get Snow stage1 kits for under $300 on eBay, similar for $215 on marketplace. I am not adding it as a means for more power, just a long term cheap cleaning solution. Any one using one on an N/A 3.6? |

I would contact Alky Solutions about this. The guy who owns the company has a lot of knowledge and can answer all your questions

You should know the perils of GDI engines and intake valves.
You're assuming I do not have a catch can, and there's your first error in judgement. If you do not want to answer the question, then I don't need your input, simple as that. I did not ask about a catch can, I asked a specific question regarding meth injection, to help clean the intake valves. If you don't know, then don't reply. I don't need answers and solutions for questions I did not ask. Last edited by AlanRubin; 03-28-2021 at 12:02 AM. |

I walnut blast every 50k and use Pennzoil Plat with very little buildup on the valves. Honestly at 50k it wasn't worth the time to do it there was almost nothing on the valves. The oil you use is the problem if you are having alot of build up. Walnut blasting is the safest method. Anything else is going to damage rings pistons and cylinder walls washing all that crap through the engine. Walnut blasting is quick and easy, I can easily pull the intake blast the valves and have it back together in 2 hrs. The entire blasting rig cost me a little over 50 bucks plus a decent compressor.

I use CRC Valve Cleaner, but I run 1200 miles a week, and would just like to press a
button, and do it on the road. It's not the oil either, it's the 202,000 miles on it. I have changed the intake manifold gasket, I know how easy it is to remove. You're telling me your experience at 50,000 miles, try 202,000. I got pictures of the valves. Even walnut blasting, you still do not get the SEAT where the valve seals at the taper in the head. I put 90,000 miles a year on a car, and change the oil every 6 weeks. I use Marvel Mystery oil in the sump 100 miles before an oil change to clean it up some. I just want a spray to wash over the valves every 10,000 or so. |

I agree with calling Julio at Alky. I run the kit and highly recommend it. Consider the quality and longevity of all parts in any kit you might purchase.

I was thinking about doing something similar. Only thing stopping me is how you compensate for the meth with your tune.

Why do you people assume I do not have a catch can? Just because I won't say I do, doesn't mean I do not, and that's NOT what I am asking. I don't care about anything else than what I am looking for. If you want to tell me what YOU want me to do, then move along. You're the second person to tell me that, you don't know what I have, and I don't have to explain myself. I want to know what Methanol will do for the intake valves, plain and simple. If you don't know, move along. If you don't want to answer it, move along. If you want to answer it with something else, MOVE ALONG. If you want to tell me what do to, OTHER than what I am asking, don't bother. Why can't anyone answer the question asked? METHANOL is the subject, and will it help clean intake valves; not catch cans. And if you knew better, you'd know they're not 100% in preventing blow by. They help, but DO NOT prevent. I do not care how much you know, you won't get a pat on the back from me, because that's not what I asked for. IF that seems abrasive, well, then some maturing is also needed. If you ask me how to fix a flat tire, I won't tell you to just buy another wheel. So, don't tell me what you want done, answer my question, not yours. ^^^^^^^^^^^ This is your answer. I would give them a call and explain what it is you want to do like stated, and avoid all the drama that seems to be happening for your question. You'd get your answer a lot quicker, and easier.

To answer your question. You should absolutely buy a $700.00 ALKY kit, plus $500.00 for installation (better yet install it yourself) and another $400.00 for a tune to keep six spark plugs cleaner. See, that’s sarcasm. Here’s the real answer. No one installs a meth system to keep anything cleaner. It’s to increase horse power and things gettin’ clean is a good side effect. The only people that claim purchasing meth kits for “cleanliness” are those guys who have to convince their significant other they absolutely need it as an investment to make the car last longer or some $hit like that. Good luck. |
