NT05

Does anyone have the Nitto 315/35/20 on the back?

Any clearance issues on the fender lips?

Edit:

I was just reading on the Nitto website that the 555r has a softer wall and gets you a better 60 over the NT05.

Anyone have experience with that?

I had the NT05 all around, then replaced just the back with the NT555R2s, the 555R2s definitely get way way more traction than the NT05's (I am assuming you mean the NT05 regulars and not the NT05Rs, as I believe Nitto markets the NT05R's as being more aggressive (0 treadwear) for traction than the NT555R or R2's)

Michelin Pilot Sport 4S's actually did way better than the NT05 regulars for traction.

I had the stock size in the NT555R2s, I think the 315s that you mentioned is the only size you can get in the 20s on the NT05Rs but not the NT05 regulars.

I should of clarified. Just talking rears only and the NT05R vs 555R2 for street/strip.

Yeah I've never tried the NT05R's and I agree the NT05 regulars were very unimpressive, but I wonder about the NT05Rs. The NT05 regulars seems like they are going to really work good but they just don't.

Sounds like I need to skip the NT05's.

The 05R might be different...

Honest opinion, do you think the NT05 when properly heated (good burn out with smoke) and maybe with 25 psi or less will out perform the original eagle f1 all season tire from a dig at the drag strip ? I have a 2021 LT1 A10 , maybe 30Hp over stock and am trying a 255 35 20 with has 1 inch more tread width and .7 inches shorter and are mounted on a 20x9 5th gen rear ss wheel. I have not burned off the new surface yet (they are new) by doing some local local street or empty parking lot slow speed spins, and they bite worse than the all season after 5 miles of road heat , 60 degree day, warm black top surface.
