Does one piece driveshaft make car quicker ?
For those those that have an aluminum or carbon fiber driveshaft do they make the car quicker from 1st to 2nd without being at WOT? and between the other gears?

Just smoother operation but, with the CF version I saved weight...

I have the DSS one and in 1st gear it goes thru it much quicker than the stock one. It allows you to "spin" her up quicker over all if that makes sense to you. And it is much smoother too.

I would describe the one piece as being more "athletic".
Don't really think it will make the car faster. Most put them on for durability.

In my car? With the 4200 stall, yes sir. She gets up to speed a lot quicker that it did with the stock unit. Just seems like it, it allows the revs to spool up quicker, kinda like a gear change, it seems to multiply the TQ better, and MY 1st gear is useless!! I start in 2nd now and it still is kinda useless but not as much as 1st is. lol.

It will not make you faster. Honestly, I couldn't tell much of a difference between the factory and the aluminum DSS one I had. I haven't put the DSS shaft back in. Just sits in my garage since I had to cut the bolts seized in the diff spacer.

Oh yea, I'm not one to tell stories, I tell you like it is for ME. It was a big difference in my car for sure. Anytime you take weight away from any rotational mass, like light weight wheels and slicks, and DS, you gain the ability to "spool up" quicker and get the car moving easier, in my opinion, in my Camaro. The way I can explain it is with the stock DS when I would throttle up in first she went like,, waaaaaaaaa 7200,shift to second,,waaaaaaaaa 7200, shift to 3rd, now it is waaa 7200,shift to second,,waaa, 7200 shift to 3rd. That 7200 is where my shift point is set at. Anyway, just MY experience with mine.. .. Everybody's experience will be different, because all the cars are not the same. Good luck.

I switch to a 3.73 to reduce the car's desire to bog off the line, and that helped quite a bit. It needed all the help it could get so I put an aluminum shaft in and that seems to have helped it even more, but the lower gear definitely did a good bit more than the shaft.
