Can a Trans tune get rid of the A8 shudder?

Like the title says, has anyone had the A8 shudder then get a trans tune and adjust the line pressures and get rid of the shuddering?
Any info will help thanks

I've read many of times that a proper trans tune can totally eliminate the shudder. This will be the first thing I do when my warranty is done

Some have yes...some have also had it return. Just depends on a couple of variables. Is the converter damaged and/or was the new fluid used. I would suggest doing the latest fluid flush first then addressing the Tcc slip tables in the TCM.

Was going on 7k miles (19,000 on her now) on the new mobil one fluid fix and no shudder before my engine blew. Crap, now i'm wondering what fluid they put in when they changed the engine. Completely forgot to tell them to make sure they put the mobil back in. Hopefully they looked at the service records but i doubt it. I'll likely have to go back for the mobil again. FML

Mine went away after what I think was zeroing out the tables when I had Tedd tune mine a few weeks back.
So nice, and he got rid of an annoying opening and closing of the TC that the previous tuners couldn't seem to get rid of.

It's the trans fluid. Update the fluid and I'm willing to bet the shudder will go away. I definitely wouldn't be tuning currently if you're having trans shudder. Leave ECM/TCM untouched until you resolve it.

So weird, so about a month ago i did a major service done new diff and trans fluids, brake fluid, some injector cleaner bs, and after that the trans started shuddering and is just unbearable now. It’s the latest fluid too with the mobile 1 ATF. My car is currently at the dealership but I’m afraid they seem a little useless might try another dealer ship hopefully they take care of it.

Do you happen to know what he did exactly so I can speak to my tuner, I heard zeroing out the slip tables completely helps or Atleast in 7-8 gear

Yes it helps...The slip tables are a part of the problem. You need to Zero out the TCC slip tables for all gears and turn off AFM/DOD. That being said at this point you might need a new torque converter if you have been driving it with the shudder.

No, I had it tuned out the same time I did the triple flush a couple years back and it came back after 6k or so miles. I'm just getting a circle D. Done playing around with it

You did it too late IMO. As King alluded to, you need to tune it before any damage is done. If you have any shudder, you’ve already begun the process of damaging the TC clutches. Since the tune cannot go back in time to prevent that, it’s likely going to come back. Your plan for a Circle D is a good move.

I've only got 17k on my car. I did the triple flush around 10k after a month of experiencing the shudder. It took that long to show up, which was a couple years after I bought the car new. I only drive maybe 5k-6k a year. And once I noticed it come back at 16.5k, I just drop it into 7th when I get to cruising speed. The shudder only happens in 8th. I'm getting a cam anyhow so, figured I'd just take care of the torque converter at the same time. I'm just hoping my transmission doesn't experience any fu@&ery from GM's shitty torque converter. Time will tell.

Mine was the fluid. Service advisor told me the original stuff used on the 16-17 model years was hydrophilic and it was worse in high heat and humidity environments, which describes my area to a T!

Tuning needs done right away. Also The triple flush from a couple years back isn't the same procedure being used today. As previously mentioned, the new fluid flush procedure should be done first. Good choice on converter!!

That being said I am at 11k miles and no shudder with tuning and original fluid. I still want to get the fluid flush and new fluid as a preventative at some point.
