Pcv line

Is the line going from the valve cover to the air intake tube necessary? The plastic nipple on my rotofab intake snapped off and I found my pcv line just hanging there. Could I just cap the nipple on the valve cover or do I need to get a new CAI?

Cap it and put a breather filter where the oil fill cap is. Its there to vent the crankcase gases.

That line feeds clean metered air into the crank case. The valley cover is the vent

OP I’d epoxy a new nipple on and reconnect the line unless you want to switch to a breather set-up. Don’t leave it unplugged because your engine will pull in unmetered air which could be bad

Maybe this is a ghetto idea but could I drill out the intake tube and epoxy the line right into the side of the intake tube? Obviously not far so it’s doesn’t obstruct airflow

You NA epoxy it and you'll be fine.

You must have an L99 then which uses the DS valve cover to pull gasses out of the crank case. An LS3 draws via the valley cover port which an L99 does not have because of the DOD valley cover.

But what the OP is talking about is the clean side which draws in air via the intake tube through the PS valve cover. This is the same on both an L99 and LS3

Read this if you’re curious (halfway through the 2nd paragraph): https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showp...88&postcount=2
