Wideband in Existing Narrowband Bung with Output
I am starting to get my feet wet with tuning and i am looking to add 1 or maybe 2 wideband sensors.
I recently purchased HP Tuners and I am starting to do some data logging and make minor adjustments. Also i am scouring all corners of the internet to soak up as much knowledge as i can. My car is stock with a CAI. I am wondering, can I add this wideband setup from HP tuners and wire an output to the E38? I would like to be able to log wideband data, still have the E38 function as normal and I do not want to add a new bung. I want to remove narrow band and replace with the wideband. I want the controller to output the narrow band signal still. https://www.hptuners.com/product/aem...troller-gauge/ |

Once installed, and once you have found it in the scanner, you can start tuning with the wideband. I only use mine for WOT tuning and use the narrowbands for everything else The only way you could remove a narrowband and replace it with a wideband, and still have everything function as normal, is going to take some work. The only wideband "capable" of this is the LC2 by Innovate Motorsports. I've read it doesn't work well and it can be difficult to set up. I suggest having another bung welded in and just keep the sensor installed or plug it when you're not tuning.

From what I understand yes they will some. If you ever notice though when you take it to have it tuned they just put the O2 sensor in the tailpipe with a clamp. Believe they adjust readings some when doing this so you could probably put it after the cats. Just wouldn't think the reading to be as accurate. As someone mentioned there is a way with a particular wideband to still send narrowband signals as well. Think there was some issues with accuracy and would just seem that you'd be setting yourself up for potential failure. Would just weld in another bung for your wideband. IMHO
