People with Vinyl Wraps. How are they holding up?
Title pretty much says it all. I have a black car and want to change the color to a light blue. I'm definitely leaning towards a wrap over paint, and am happy with the 5-7 year life span I read about. However I am doubtful. Anyone on here had a wrap on their car for a long time? My car is a daily driver, and is parked on the street all year round. So I'm having a hard time believing a glorified sticker will stay on for that long without peeling and what not. I do plan on having it installed by a well known professional wrap company.

My rally stripes are matte black vinyl that were installed by the dealership.... car is 5 years old and it's still holding up nicely. I've not even considered needing to replace them yet. I do clean and protect them every so often, which is probably vital to vinyl's life span.
I would think if an installer does it right and wraps all the way around a panel's edge, that a full wrap should last longer than stripes that have exposed edges. |

Have a full wrap on my service van and its 5 years old and is outdoors always. Starting to see some fade in spots but no peeling what so ever and is blue. Wrap was professionaly installed as well. It's a work van so I don't really wash it very often and zero washing during the winter so I'm guessing a wrap that's taken care of would last much better than mine

My work vehicle has a 3 year old wrap, the areas on the roof that are black look terrible, it is cracked, faded and just looks awful. The white areas on the hood have turned kinda brown like burnt from engine heat. The wrap company said they could replace the hood and roof for $1200.. The entire car cost $3800. I would guess it would look a lot better if there was no black.

I've thought about doing the same thing. Grabber blue looks awesome with black wheels/roof/spoiler

wrap
Only had my wrap since january, holding just fine up to now, its not a daily, so not sure if I'm any help. Does protect from the rock chips due to our crappy paint jobs form the manufacturer.

Check out your local Plasti Dip dealer, they will hook you up! Plasti Dip is quickly becoming easier, and more visually/protectively appealing over a wrap. Check out my site if you want some more info. I know I'm in Canada, but you can find somebody closer to you.

and it would be closer to $1300 for the whole car, not $3800...
