ZL1 mods that won't void warranty?

I do not wish to void my factory warranty. However, I'd like to do mods that would lower my 1/8 mile et.

Perhaps this will just come down to a given dealer's interpretation? I guess I'm really just inquiring about a "line in the sand". Everything above it is OK, and anything below it will void the warranty.

BTW, I already plan to get some MT DRs.

There is no line, but if you keep your bolt on parts you could put them back on before taking it in for warranty work. If you don't do that then it is as you said, dealer interpretation.

Driver mod is the only thing that is 100% guaranteed not to void your warranty.

There is a vendor here I believe that released a package that did not void your warranty. It might have been Lethal Racing, I am not sure. Someone will chime in hopefully. I was looking into the same thing when I had mine. I want to say the price was $1100-1600.

There is no single answer to this question. It depends on the modifications made to the car, the dealer, the failure and how you communicate with the dealer.

General rule: If you want to keep your warranty in tact don't modify your car.

Contact Ted at Janetty Racing, he offers a 75 whp no tune kit. I plan on getting it once I can convince the wife to let me. Lol

That may be it that I was trying to describe.

Just because its no tune doesn't mean it won't void your warranty. You're spinning the blower faster and creating more boost. If you SC fails they could easily blame it on the increased load. If you want to keep your warranty, don't mod...end of story.

Apex induction package. CAI cold air, and V max throttle body.
Jannetty 75 HP no tune with torco fuel additive.

The line seems to be going into the computer for tuning.
My understanding is GM requires a pic of the engine bay, and a shot of the ECU on warranty claim work.

Also is going to depend on your dealer, some will help you out with this, others will not. Find a dealer that is into motorsports is your best bet, then ask them where to go with it. Have them do the install, and service work. But even then there is a chance you may find a denial with GM.

My dealer told me as long as they can't determine that the mod caused the problem and no tune. From what I have heard no tune CAI, ported throttle body and headers is as about as far as you can go

By the letter of your warranty,

Mud flaps
window tint
clear bra
armorall
Air freshners

Anything else does not necessarily void the warranty but you can be denied a warranty repair related to any mods you do.
