Is the LSA crank a 4340 forging?

I kind of doubt it. It seems to strong to be a 104X, but it appears to be a 5140. However, I can not find anything on it other than forged steel.

4130? 4340?

This would be interesting to know. Does anyone know what forging it is?

Sorry about not responding here. No one knew, or had any input, so I never replied when I found out it was a 1538MV. The crank is likely good to 1200hp. Some say 1500hp. BTW, 1538MV is a very resilient Microalloyed steel. Its composition is 0.38 Carbon/1.34 Manganese/0.56 Silicon/0.086 Vanadium/0.0159 Nitrogen.
