What is the advantage to running these oils. Zinc content?

Thank you! I usually have to pay $9 a quart here when I have to buy it locally.

I was looking at a bottle of that stuff when I bought some SynPower today it says not for extended use with catlytic converters.
I thought the Zinc was only needed for flat tappet cams? We have rollers. IDK is there another reason we would need it? The SynPower has been good to me since the mid 90's. |

Flat tappet cams rely more heavily on the zinc than roller cams. The zinc in the oil helps keep engine parts from wearing. It's like a sacrificial layer. When the zinc burns during combustion it will leave deposits in your converter. Over a long period of time (5+ years) it will begin to reduce catylist efficiency.
