Stock SS summer only vs ZL1 stock tires
Hey guys. I’ve yet to get my 21 2SS with summer only tires. I am a little confused by the type of tire the stock summer only tire is. Is there a difference when they mention Goodyear eagle F1 super car tire and what comes on an SS versus a ZL1? Is the super car Goodyear Eagle F 1 the same on an SS as what comes on a ZL one? I have seen some videos that talk about the summer only eagle super car tire not being very good even in the rain much less below 40°. Is it a slam dunk to have a 365 day daily driver that I will need to get all season tires as well from October through March? Thanks.

Yes there's a difference. In Delaware, I'd prolly spring for 2 sets of wheels.

Yes, these are two completely different sets of Goodyear tires, see the factory SS tires here and their ZL1 counterparts here.
Neither are particularly well suited for wet and/or cold weather, and I wouldn't even try to drive on them under 40°, my original tires for the 2SS were already risky under 60-65°. Again, these are "max" and "extreme" performance summer tires, respectively, so having an all-season set is almost essential if you want to drive them all year long, especially in sub-40° temperatures. One more aspect you'll need to consider is that the OEM 2SS tires are runflats, so you'll receive no inflator kit with the car, but if you do get a flat, you can drive about 40-50 miles on them to the nearest tire shop or dealership. However, the tradeoff is worse ride quality and much more road noise, these are more harsh and noisy than "regular" tires (due to their rock hard sidewalls), so if I were you contemplating a new all-season setup, I would buy non-runflats and make sure my tow is covered in case a nail tries to, hm, screw with my day. EDIT: fixed link to ZL1 tires, thanks MatthewAMEL (mouse had slipped, heh)

Thanks. Great suggestions. Just read all comments on SS Goodyear’s. Wow. Folks did not like them at all. Looks like I might just light them up and then buy a set of Michelin all season’s.

You were pointed to the wrong tire on the SS 1LE and the ZL1.
It's the Goodyear Supercar 3. FAR superior to the G2. https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...+F1+Supercar+3
