How to find out what is in the car ... and where to find it
To the left of the empty space in my trunk is a cutout that has some electronics, Anyone know what this is?
And also, is there a manual online somewhere I can go to look up where electronic (and other) systems in the car are physically located?

I'm thinking you are talking about the Bose amplifier. If it's under the trunk cover.
To the right in the trunk uner a cover is the battery |

Feel free to correct:
Front engine compartment, front pass corner under the fuse block: ECM Front, pass fender well: TCM Inside pass footwell, 3 units stacked: Mylink, BCM, Onstar Trunk, driver side: Audio amp. Trunk, bottom: More fuses, Keyless entry, ELSD if equipped, MRC control?. Trunk, pass: Battery Behind the back seat on verts: ragtop hydraulics. Last edited by Gunkk; 09-10-2018 at 06:03 AM.
