GM Canada Online Chat ... Useless?

Anyone else find that GM-Chat is essentially useless in Canada?

I've "chatted" 4-5 times now, at different times of the day and never once have they actually been able to get me the order status of my vehicle ... not sure why they even offer it as an option in the drop-down.

Was hoping for a second source of the information so I didn't have to bug my dealer for it 2-3 times a week, and those of us in Canada don't have a BECKY!! <grin>

We wish you could too, you're fantastic ... need to find a Canadian dealer and introduce them to this forum, maybe they'll take on the mantle for Canada.

The whole set up is useless, for all topics, I've used it a few times and the conversations always end with them telling me to follow up with the dealership.

So why is this system in place? Get rid of it and save the money you're paying people to monitor this, who have no clue about anything, they're definitely not industry people.

GM Canada Chat is useless. As others have said all they do is refer you to a dealer. Given only that route to follow, I was fortunate to find one who was actually interested in helping me find a ZL1. They went on their Workbench Ordering System and put me in touch with a dealer who had allocation.

It's a different system. Different company really.
Canadians trying to get the U.S to get them an answer.

They basically see what the dealer can see. Maybe some of them are better working the system and finding an answer. But not many.

It's all we got

My dealer was nice enough to provide me the status whenever I asked for it.

Take into account that it will take 8-10 weeks and more to get your car... so I just bothered my dealer 2-3 times during the whole ordering process... enough to know my order was accepted, enough to know the TPW and the when the vehicle was shipped... else, it will follow the process and you might not need to know all the details.

But your dealer should be able to answer your questions... even if they are almost harassment haha.

If not, I have never used the chat, but I emailed them once and they were kind enough to provide me the status... not the actual number but the worded status... was enough for me.

They were the same when the Camaro was built in Canada, too.

I agree, I make it clear to my dealerships, no matter what car I've bought, that I wanted "regular" updates (within reason), and they were always willing to oblige.
