I drag raced my 1997 HD Evo Big Twin, and get crap for it from the fast bikes.
I have a similar comment back.
They will say something like, Why are you wasting your time on that bike, get Zx or R1 or mostly get a ‘Busa.

I say, I know those bikes are fast right off the floor fast, but it’s more more fun to make a slow bike go faster then it is to ride a already fast bike, everyone knows the UJM’s are faster but they ugly..

Staves is at it again today (roasting like no other), but this is a rare time when I concur with him 100%.

There is a constant, low key background fun in driving this car like a normal person, enjoying the rumble, the torque and the ease of taking turns—knowing full well what it's capable of at just a quick stab of the throttle to the floor (performance shift mode: activated! )

I gotta admit. Sometimes on those nice quiet mornings after washing the car I like to just crawl around my little town. It’s nice and peaceful. It’s doesnt usually stay peaceful too long but while I’m just puttting around it’s nice. Once I’ve had enough of the peaceful stuff I head to the on ramp. Then.....well.....you know

I'm with you. I have a lot of fun chasing down sportbikes in the canyons on my Harley.

I concur. But I enjoy cruising slowly in my 71 pro touring camaro with a 520hp lumpy 406 even more. Like the LT1 it has a massive TQ curve and tremec. And the exhaust note never gets old !!

Actually thrashing 4 banger tuners around on the street looks silly. The actual look of the cars appear silly, but then to add all the ricer add ons looks even sillier. Yes cruising in the Camaro is nice and looks cool cruising. But stepping into it on a straight away like an entrance ramp can look cool too and sound cool.

You're absolutely right. Same rider, same skill, sportbike vs Harley in the twisties, sportbike wins all day.

Buuuuut, being on a sportbike doesn't make you fast, though a lot of people think it does.

Also, you can be Ricky Racer stoplight to stoplight or even the fastest of your riding group in the twisties, until someone that actually knows what their doing comes along.

I have a friend in SoCal that blows me away. I can be out on the open back roads having an awesome time, hanging off the bike and riding smooth and really feeling good about how fast I am carving that day, then he blows by me on a big sweeper, on his bagger, with his wife on the back! I love it and hate it at the same time!

I agree this car is hard to stall.

Some ideas for follow-up threads:
"Dark Side of the Moon"-- sounds better on mute!
Hot bikini model looks better in burlap shroud!
"Wizard of Oz"-- better in black and white! (just follow the gray brick road...)

My old car had a K24Z with all the A-VTEC-I stuff in it, fun to drive, peppy little high revivng engine, but definitely gutless compared to the Camaro, and annoying in traffic - would have to row gears in the traffic up here. Camaro stays in 1st until traffic flows.

I enjoy ripping the car around at every turn, hanging the rear out and stoplight 1st gear pulls. I bought it to have fun. If I wanted to drive slow then I’d drive my truck. surprised how easy the 305s slip. It seems more manageable than a C6 Z as I recall stomping it at 90 and the rear trying to kick out.

I agree that cruising kinda slow can be fun, but you have to get on it through the gears at least once each tank of gas to keep the carbon from building up. Rinse and repeat.

It's strange when I drive my Camaro or previously my Coyote Mustang and then my mom's equinox.

Driving my mom's equinox especially on the highway is maddening. Sluggish and have to smash the gas to get going. Smash my SS throttle and it's approaching 100mph.

Driving an S197 Coyote, 2006 GT, and my current Camaro SS makes any other car feel slow.

The road by my sub vision at night has hardly any traffic. However, down the street is the Sheriff's Office HQ so always deputies passing by. I get the itch to WOT at night when no one is around. I'm sure I'll get a fat ticket eventually since they sit there sometimes.
