CTEK, for sure. After all my research, they are the 'standard' as far as battery tender quality go (they also make the "GM/Camaro Tender, FYI).
CTEK MXS 5.0 - https://www.amazon.com/CTEK-40-206-5.../dp/B00CD44RQO Used it yesterday on mine, just plugged into the terminals under the hood. Not storing the car, but was curious what type of charging/topping off it would do to the battery, which is only 3 months old and 1,000 miles on the ODO. It still did a few hours of bulk charging (up to 80%) and then a few more hours at the lower current charge up to 100% before going into the 'pulse/hold' stage. Surprised it needed as much time as it did, honestly! Great device just to have, even if not storing your car long term. Use it on our Mazda 3 beater every few weeks which is driven maybe once or twice a week to take the dog to the park and back (shorter trip). Relatively inexpensive maintenance item. |

I have three Schneider tenders and a Battery Tender Junior that all work just fine. The important thing is to research to ensure that they are able to correctly charge and maintain the AGM batteries that are in our cars (most seem to be able to do this). The smaller ones will simply charge more slowly. I used the Junior on an older Accord that had been sitting. With it's 3/4A output, it took close to two days to get the battery fully charged because the car had been sitting for more than a couple of months with zero use in colder weather.

I use this as well. I also bought the 12 volt battery adapter so I just plug it into the cigarette lighter. Makes it impossible to forget it is plugged in and try to drive away. I like to low voltage aspect of this unit as a tender. It is not meant to quickly jump start a dead battery.

SAE Socket
I always add tender to my vehicles, with several to drive some sit for a while. I found these SAE sockets from the solar panel and RV industry that make for a nice clean install without just leaving a cord hanging. Just be careful about the polarity.
The flange has 4 holes to either screw or zip tie to a grille bar. http://www.solarseller.com/low_volta...extensions.htm Last edited by splatrd; 01-27-2021 at 12:06 PM. Reason: typo |

I installed my tender by the battery and hooked up a plug outlet bottom right rear. You can’t even see it unless you get down and look under the car.
