The "Fifty" badge and the orange threw me a bit at first but it's growing on me and I'm just about sold on it. I've been telling myself and all who would listen that I wouldn't consider getting a 6th Gen until they announced the 50th anniversary edition and now it's here so that means it's time to start thinking.

Speaking of which, when they say "available summer 2016" is that meant to indicate when ordering can start or when they'll be on lots? I have a 2012 1LT RS now and I'm thinking trade in, possibly even for a 2SS this time. Just curious when I should start bugging dealers.

The big thing - Suede inserts with orange stitching. That's pretty sweet, especially for those who love the idea of the 1le seats, but want a 2ss/auto.

I think they did a nice job with this. Would be nice to see a second color option though.
I agree - not being able to order suede seat inserts on a Camaro has been one thing that's kept me from pulling the trigger. Being able to get them on this car might tip me over...

I am right with you. Said I would not consider a 6th gen until I saw the 50th anniversary as well and I really do like it. I may even go 2ss vert, but that is really going to be pushing the price up.

The thing killing me is my 2010 is completely paid off and not having a car payment is very nice. What to do, what to do? I think my desire for a new car will get me into one of these.

I've still got a year and some change left on paying mine off but I'm not seeing myself wait for that.

I think I'd like a 2SS 50th with 8-speed auto and moon roof options and I'd be a happy camper. So do we know if "available summer" means that's when we can expect to get pricing info and be able to order or is that when they'll be ready and ordering would start sooner? I've never actually ordered a car before so I'm not clear on how much the experience differs from the normal dealership runaround but it sounds like something I'd like to do.

I am disappointed no zl1 and only Gray color. I was hoping for a Hyper Blue ZL1 50th.

I find it underwhelming and it's a disappointingly lazy effort for the 50th anniversary.

I would think pricing and more details, like some interior photos, will come during the New York auto show later this month.

I'm liking the 50th. I hope it's not too expensive of an option. I would guess $1500-2000. As soon as they can be ordered I'm putting a deposit down.

and that's fine!!!

Its a nice looking package! I actually like the hood stripe for once, and the wheels look good. The custom brake caliper colors are a nice touch as well. Those who order this car will have a unique ride, and it will turn heads. Will it be super special/rare? Sorry likely not.

What did you people want? A specialized LT1 making 500+ HP? (that seems to be the case with many) or some kind of handling performance package that makes it out to be a 1LE equal? On top of what they are giving you here.

Then when GM does that, and they decide to charge 8 thousand dollars or more, you guys will loose your minds that it costs so much.

Sorry for the slight rant, but it never fails with this forum, that a new announcement turns into mostly complaining.

At least someone was being realistic.

Ford barely even did any more than this for the 50th Mustang....it was in a unique color. Kudos to them.

If this car was in hugger orange, would now the majority of you be singing its praises? Would you also carry that tune when it cost 8 - 10 thousand dollars?

I love it. Great starting point.

I don't think anybody pointed this out yet in all 10 pages of this thread, but the grill insert is exactly the same as what was shown at SEMA last year. They also share blacked out SS emblems. I guess it's not too uncommon to see SEMA parts end up re-used on production vehicles for totally different purposes, like the 2010 Camaro "SSX" wheels that ended up showing up 2 years later on the ZL1.

Too bad they didn't decide to use the blade spoiler and side skirts too.

I'm with you on the Hyper Blue. I'm a black and blue fan myself. If not the 50th I was considering HB with black wheels.

Good point. I'll be staying tuned for sure.

---------------------

I can understand those that might be a bit underwhelmed here but as far as I'm aware, the anniversary editions have generally always been essentially a trim package or at least the 45th was. Only one color option on that one too, carbon flash metallic, and it also wasn't available on the ZL1 either. They really can't include a whole lot more without the package price going way north of where we're thinking it will be.

Don't forget at least this time all 2017 models will have a 50th logo on the steering wheel so they will all be at least a little special. Though if that drops an SS logo or something that might otherwise be there, some folks won't be pleased but you can't please everyone.

When has any anniversary Camaro had a power increase? All been graphics and stripes.

I do think maybe a white pearl paint with higher orange would've been cool -

+1, assuming you meant 'hugger' orange stripes. Diamond White Tintcoat would have been great, too.

Any pics of the interior yet? I like the wheels much better on this than on the regular SS.
