I do not think GM is responsible for SRE builds appearing on a dealer's web site. For example, Rodgers Chevrolet does not show SRE builds on the irweb site. Somewhere in there it has to be a dealer choice. Did someone ^ just post bait and switch?

Didn't someone say earlier it's possible to start paperwork once there is a VIN but before the car is delivered? I asked my sales woman if we could start paperwork sometime next week, car or no car, and she told me nothing cab happen until my car is there. I was hoping to get the ball rolling so the process goes quickly once the car is delivered. Any input?

I will be doing paperwork before my car gets there. Invoice has showed up already.

The practice may or may not be legal bait and switch, depending on the follow up actions of the dealer.

"The intention of the bait-and-switch is to encourage purchases of substituted goods, making consumers satisfied with the available stock offered, as an alternative to a disappointment or inconvenience of acquiring no goods (or bait) at all, and reckoning on a seemingly partial recovery of sunk costs expended trying to obtain the bait. It suggests that the seller will not show the original product or service advertised but instead will demonstrate a more expensive product or a similar product with a higher margin."

Wow! Really?! Seems like such a long way to travel by truck. My 5th gen came by train. I realize Oshawa is further away, but only by about 350 miles. Knoxville is still almost 600 miles away. Sounds strange, but hey...what do I know about shipping and logistics? If it gets here faster because of that, then roll on 18-wheeler!

When Becky posted the prices for the 2017's, I used that and went through to calculate what I was expecting to get as the MSRP on my build. While I was correct on that part, I messed up when trying to figure out the Employee Pricing that I qualify for. We have had at least one 2016 Camaro delivered by truck all the way to Knoxville.

600 miles seems to be the non-Corvette limit. 1000 miles for the Corvette.

Thanks. That is good for people to know.

From what I gather, the rail car route can be slow, slow, slow, or pretty quick. There is no good way to judge the estimated time on the rails without looking at the actual ETA.
