This is what I've been looking at and great deal on the tiles...I think for a 20x20 size floor its about $252 for the tiles.
I like the price, but I'm guessing you need a pretty level floor without any cracks or ridges for that to work unless those are real flexible tiles that can go over some minor humps and uneven spots.

Buying a new house with a 30x80 garage/shop. Can't wait to start turning it into the Camaro Cave. Still probably a month or two from moving in so loving the ideas here. I've been planning for a while and have a pretty good idea of what I want to do. Always love to see new ideas though.

The typical epoxy floor kits you get at the big box store won't hold up over time to acids, petroleum products, or high heat, like a hard run motorcycle tire. My neighbor came pulling into his garage after a hard run on his motorcycle and pealed up a strip of the cheap stuff around his back tire.

To do it right, I use two versions of the PPG Aquapon two part epoxy. Clean, sand and acid etch the floor to get all of the contaminates off, then rinse thoroughly and let dry. The cleaner, the better. Your base coat should be with the water based Aquapon (?). The top coat should be with the solvent based Aquapon (35). These two products are compatible with each other. The water based Aquapon will flow into the micro-pores of the concrete and reduce/eliminate bubbling. The top coat, solvent based, epoxy is impervious to almost anything. Follow all directions, vent well, and use a respirator. This stuff is used to coat pipes that are immersed in sea water and will handle solvents and battery acid.

My house garage floor is going on 20+ years and still sealed. It does have some stains in it, but the integrity is still good after all of this time.

Here's my new toy shop with the Aquapon treatment. I love my central heating and air system!

Great pics....I'm doing the same thing, getting gladiator cabinets and slowly doing the same thing. I have a 3 car garage, and looking to wall off the single car portion to make my wood shop. That way the two car side is just for the 1LE and my girl's new Nissan Rogue.

Thanks! It added 300 sq. ft. of storage. Still not enough storage with the S.O.s' stuff!

Work bench going in the middle under the loft. Welding bench, welder, chop saw, drill press to the left; and refrigerator, coffee stand, loading bench to the right. 60 gal air compressor in its own shed outside to keep the noise down. Probably a Max Jack lift next to the stairs.

6" of insulation in the walls and 24" in the ceiling. The central heat/air rarely kicks on.

This summer I'll also be adding a 20' X 32' lean-to on to the shop for a place to park my truck and...more storage for the little lady.

I'm retiring at the end of the year and this is going to be my hangout.

If least cost is your priority, then pick out a cheap sheet vinyl flooring from the local home store. I did a parquet style sheet vinyl floor in the garage of my last house and it looked great... well under $1/sf for the material. You can do a 20x30 garage for under $500, including $50 to rent the truck to take it home.

That's a good idea.... How did it hold up over time? Did you just use some type of concrete or construction adhesive to hold it in place? Was traction an issue?

Lasted me 12 years just fine until I sold the house. Traction was fine, but obv not as good as concrete when wet. VERY easy to keep clean.

The key is if you have a standard 2 car garage, the vinyl probably won’t span the entire floor in one piece. So glue the seam well and locate it in the center, etc. so the tires won’t contact the seam. Or just lay a piece of threshold on the seam later if it starts to curl after 5 or so years. Use a piece of threshold for the front lip and any other doors. The standard vinyl floor glue they offer works fine. I used 10 gallons of glue for a 20’ x ~30’ garage. Get the 1/4” square tooth trowel.

When you first lay it down it will bubble no matter how well you roll it out. You can pin prick it or just let it settle on its own in about a day.
