Yep, this is really outrageous to remove such a historically rich sport from the Olympics.
Some stuff isn't watched much, but ratings shouldn't be the final determination in front of tradition and common sense.

What total bullshit. Let's remove the first Olympic sport ever from the Olympics.

Agree. You think wrestling was bad? I tried to watch Judo during the last one, and it was like watching paint dry.

Pretty sure that will not happen anytime soon. I like MMA myself, but it's too much of a blood sport for the Olympics.
Wrestling is one of the classic Greek sports, and has a long history. If the IOC really does this....people need to complain, loudly.

I don't think removing wrestling is a good idea. I still won't watch it or participate, but it deserves recognition for those who care.

Last time I checked, the Olympics were not created for monetary gain. Oh wait, this is the modern age. I would love to do a 5 point Greco throw to the idiots running the IOC. I am beyond pissed.
Rant over. |

As a wrestler, I'm a little insulted. But what I don't get is, if they just cared about ratings than why not just stop broadcasting it? I can't wait to see the backlash the IOC is going to get for this.

I have never watched the Olympics anyway.
But I agree with you guys. What a shame. And if Basketball is in the Olympics then everything should be. |
