Well the good Wings showed up for the 1st period last night not sure where they were for the remainder of the game. Knew it would be different with Bert and Franzen out.

Yes, the Blackhawks just keep rolling, but will they crash and burn soon?

I really thought the wings were gonna do it yesterday and i think we were the closest. We were the better team late, when it mattered but Crawford stood on his head. So did Howie when the Hawks were running the game. I dont know what wrong with Datsyuk in shootouts this season.

Playoff hockey will tell. How many times have we seen super hot clubs get slammed in the playoffs? A bunch.

I saw the Hawks win 11 straight games in the playoffs in '92 only to be swept by the Pens in the finals. The Wings in 95 had a tremendous regular season only to lose the cup to New Jersey.

The streak is nice but they keep flirting with disaster with 1 goal games late in the third. In the playoffs that's like a bad case of Tourettes Syndrome.

He's injured. Not enough to pull him out of the lineup but enough to damage his game right now.

that makes sense, but injured enough to affect shootouts and not affect going coast to coast and scoring on the preds? It's odd, but totally plausible.

Yup it all depends how he was feeling at the time. I always hated intermission between periods when I played goal because that's when your body winds down and you start to feel the pain. When everyone's playing and the lines are rolling your mind is occupied and you're on the move every few minutes so you can forget you're hurt and for goalies we go back to our weird ways.

Those few minutes before the shootout Datsyuk has nothing to do but stand still and feel every lingering injury plus what he took for 3 periods then he has to charge the net. Hockey, even a little rat hockey game at the local rink, will kick your ass. I can only imagine the beating those guys take in the NHL.

Yeah Rinne is usually better. Off night for him. I really hope the Wings can show everyone what's up these next 2 nights. We really need the points and we just need consistency. 2 strong periods against Calgary then a complete meltdown in the 3rd ain't right.

I'm hoping the Wings will make it into the playoffs so I can watch them when I get home in May.
