Had lunch with my brother today and got caught up. Even let him check out the driver seat of the 50. He says his modded SS feels so slow compared to it lol.

Gotta get the tshirts. The old saying "Been there. Done that. Bought the shirt."

TPMS Readings?

I've been searching around and can't seem to find anything so I'll start asking here. (...and I'll keep searching.)

Anyone having a discrepancy between what the TPMS reports and what you actually read with a manual gauge at the valve stem? My TPMS reports 30-33 psi cold but my manual tire gauge reports 35-38 psi cold. That's 5 psi different. (I've also checked it after driving, warm tires, with the same difference.) Enough that I've gotten a couple of warning emails from my car that one or more tires are low. I'm assuming it's filled with regular air, the caps are gray.

In comparison we have a 2015 Jeep GC w/TPMS that reads within +/- 1 psi of the manual gauge.

Not a BIG deal, just a bit of an annoyance. Thanks.

A manual gauge will always be better than the TPMS, but at least with my Cadillac ATS, it's always within 2-3 PSI. I usually add a couple extra PSI to compensate. Even my dealer inflates it higher. I got used to what is "right" with my TPMS so for me, it is accurate. I just had to establish a baseline. It definitely warns me when I'm losing air!

I noticed something similar with mine. My cheap guage reads 35 but the car says they have 38 and 40. I was gonna pick up a better guage and try again. My ATS was usually within 1 or 2 lbs of the guage.

I guess we need a 'reference' gauge that we can go by.
Then we can determine which sensors are more accurate.
Until then, I'll just choose to believe what's on the car

Just noticed that we're on the 50th page on our Club F1FTY thread!

Agreed. Need a baseline. I too feel the the tpms are off compared to manual gauge. My truck is pretty close 1-2 psi off. The Camaro seems higher for some reason.

Awesome, 50 pages of F1FTY!

Hello to all, just wondering are there any 2017 R/S 50th owners here and are you happy with your purchase. Considering the 2LT 50th.

I replied in the "Checklist" thread, but I'll respond here as well so you can ask any other questions...

I went from a 2013 2LT/RS V6 Auto to the 2017 2LT/RS 50th V6 M6. I have driven an SS and for me, the V6 has plenty of power. Both my 13 & 17 have more HP than my 87 IROC-Z. I don't race, track, or do burnouts. I can cruise and enjoy, or downshift and take off when needed - a lot of 1 lane roads in the country here with many slower trucks and old folks! Going from 60 to 80 is very quick and responsive! Letting it loose now and then, I get up to 80 from first to 4th gear quickly as well. Overall, I love the step-up from the Gen5 to the Gen6. I feel like I'm in a cockpit - I can access all the controls (once you learn them) easily. All your standard features are going to be the same in a Gen6 RS or SS - you're just adding 120 HP under the hood. If you feel you need it, then go for it. I don't and I definitely don't regret my purchase of the V6 (again).

I also looked at the financial aspect. It's not just the extra $5k-$10k on an SS sticker... it's also the gas and insurance. I'm 46 and my insurance rates aren't bad at all, but the SS would add a minimum $20/month for the rest of my ownership (with rates going up over time as well). The gas - having to put premium in and getting lower mpg means more gas at a higher cost.

If you order your 50th, you will have little room for negotiation. You will only have any current incentives. If the 50th is already on the lot, you probably have more wiggle room.

Good luck to you... any other questions just ask.

thanks PinLover I might add that the RS 50th comes with all season tires vs summer only on the SS. The price is better (-$10m) and I run Hucks mid grade 90 octane in commercial lawn mowers and trucks which will work well in the RS. The dash is a little less quality but serves a funtion lol.
