I think in time history will relate the gen 5Z as being the last true parts bin chevy built. All those LS7's were nearly ten years old at the time, and not emissions compliant going fwd. Same optic happened with the last L78 motor's in 1979, GM couldn't put them in anything so they used them as an option on certain 79 firebird models. The general never throws parts away.

I heard that GM is poised to offer an evolution version of the Camaro, mid-2024, termed as "IROC-Z" with the LT7 and dual-clutch out of the C8. Said to be a mid-engined adaptation.
