Leather vs cloth seats

After needing to replace both front seat cushion covers after 5 years, I dont know that I want leather seats in my next camaro.

Has anyone had their cloth seat cushion covers wear out & replaced them - if so, how old were the covers before they needed replacing?

If you wore out leather you'll wear out the cloth too. Mine is a 2016 (so 7 years old now) leather 2ss... Not a mark on the leather. Maybe you need to actually adjust the way you are getting out of your car.

I have cloth seats on my 1SS that I have owned since new - bought March 2016. I have no wear or stain issues. It's been a very easy and forgiving upholstery even though it's light gray.

I have a 2016 2SS with the gray leather. It's pristine. So are the carpets.
But then again my car only has 7590 miles on it!
I bought it in 2019 with 1880 miles on it.

I have zero issues with the leather in my car and it has 115K miles on it.

I have a 2010 2SS, meaning leather seats. The car has 85K miles and the seats are not worn out at all. The driver's seat looks broken in compared to the passenger seat, but is completely intact and black as it was originally.

I wear jeans 100% of the time and don't worry about sliding in and out.

However, I am fit and lean at under 150 lbs.

I think we can all agree that getting into and out of our Camaros can be a little bit of a yoga exercise on its own, the doors are certainly not light, and the car sits very low not to mention the bolstering, particularly on the Recaros, is quite aggressive. That being said I currently own a 2023 and never had Recaro seats which are a mix of both Alcentara and leather, for reference I weigh 185lbs and very fit. Entering the car I notice I always rub against the back and thigh bolstering. Getting out I also have to use the bolster to kind of push myself out. This also isn't the finest quality leather either so I too am concerned about the longevity and completely understand where the question is coming from.

The thought is the way you get in and out is what's causing excessive wear. Leather can look new after 200k mi. and 20 years if the owner sits down in the middle of the seat and doesn't slide in.

I think we need to see photos to have much else to say. "Wear" is different to each person. "Worn" to you may be "broken in" to others.

had a 2015 RS leather and drove it 85K no issues, 2021 SS cloth 6500 miles no issues and current 23 SS cloth and no issues. 6' 200 and handicapped left knee. I tought myself to use the rocker sill as a place to put hand and support weight getting in and out. not a scuff in 3 camaros. pretty much a simple manuever compared to entry / exit my racecar with an X in the door opening.

condition your seats often, and try not to sit on the bolsters while getting in. I back into my seat then sit, lift my feet and pivot. Barely touch the bolster. That's how you tear a seat up.

Agree with leather conditioner.
I have 10k miles on my truck and it is not even a year old yet, and the seats still look new.

I use either Adams or Chemical Guys and condition them every other week.
