The GD traction control switch location

Is anyone else annoyed by the location of the TC button right where your hand rests behind the shifter?? I keep bumping it and switching the TC light on and off, thinking about trying to make some sort of a cover for it since I really don't intentionally use it, has anyone maybe made something? Looking for ideas.

I've never hit it unintentionally.

When I had my original run flat tires in winter I covered my TC button with a leather strap to match my interior because I would bump it off. And driving in winter with TC off was not cool because the car could get away from you with TC off. With my new all seasons its not a real issue. In fact I usually drive with it off unless its raining because its easier to chirp the tire going into second and third gear.

Cool perspective. In Texas, ice isn't very common, but its the worst we get and happens at least once a winter. I had an 05 Avalanche that bailed me out one icy morning because of the Traction control. This Ram truck behind me wasn't as lucky when he hit the icy spot on the highway. GM does TC right.

Temp solution is working great

I made this today and so far it's working well. I wasn't having trouble bumping the Mode switch, so all I needed covered was the TC switch. Some spare clear plastic wedged into the gap between the switch and the console trim.

That's cool, but what do you do, move it every time you get in the car? First button I push is mode, second is traction control, every time.

I never turn off TC on purpose, so this is what I need to stop accidentally turning it off. The base of my hand rests right on top of that switch while switching gears, and as you can see by the pics, it's not covering the Mode switch. I think if it were an A10 tranny, I probably wouldn't be having this issue.

Yeah, I don't switch off traction control, but need that button to get into the right mode.
