RE-71R or SC3's for Track Day

I've been doing mostly Autocross events and running the RE-71R's but we have a Trackcross event coming up and I'm wondering if it would be better to put the stock Good Year SC3R's back on the car.

My thought process is the RE-71's are likely to overheat and get greasy under the heavier corner and breaking loads. Ambient will be 96 degrees that day.

The SC3R's are pretty descent tires and much more resistant to heat, in fact, they seem to get better with some heat in them.

Thoughts?

I've never run the RE71s but if it's just track cross and not lapping I would leave the RE71s on as it's just a faster autocross. You aren't going to overheat them in 40 second runs.

This. If you're not doing multiple laps, the RE71s will come up to temp faster and shouldn't overheat.

For actual track lapping, the SC3Rs will be superior.

Agreed with the other guys 100% the RE71s start to fall off toward the end of sessions, this shouldn't be an issue for Track-cross.

I agree. You can't get temp in the tires during a track cross.
