Home Link on 19's

Does anyone know if the 2019 Camaro no longer offers home link as an option or feature ?

That’s actually stupid. What were they thinking of removing homelink?

GM removing homelink is a cost cutting, short term move by a desperate company. when you’re out of ideas you just start cutting things out to save money ,things that you think people won’t notice.

Most people dont know how to use it, rest don't need it.

If auto dimming mirrors still there.. that's better option to have across the line anyway.

That's completely false. It was removed because they added the frontal collision warning system, which imo is way better, and the home link was removed due to power usage constraints.

And auto dimming mirrors are still there too.

Well why then does my 2015 Impala have frontal collision warning and still have Home Link?

Also the addition of the useful rear view mirror camera.

I don’t care about homelink. I actually have an old school remote for my garage door!
Ahh, brings back those memories!

I hear ya. I don't know why we even have a remote for the TV. I'm not so lazy I can't tell my wife to get up and change the channel

I’m so old they called remotes “clickers!”

They made that god awful clicking sound to tell the electric motor tied the the channel knob to rotate!
Ah, all 7 channels at your command!

Sorry, I forgot to add that it was the frontal collision system AND the new rear view camera mirror....which btw is AMAZING. I have 0 visibility problems as compared to my 5th gen.

Those "power usage constraints" are the very signs of the potential short term cost cutting measure RealG alluded to. I heard it was more of a limit on the number of module output ports, which also sounds very petty. How much power can a pulse mode low energy remote control use anyway? The RVC and frontal object sensors are useful, but forcing people to give up highly useful existing functionality is rather lame. Even the fact of having such a thread in this forum is rather sad.

To me, this would actually have been a dealbreaker at the moment, I wouldn't replace all garage door openers to some minuscule range bluetooth or (even worse) centralized wifi-based models just so I don't have to clip those ugly remotes onto the visors...

Well it’s definitely disappointing to me as I am in the market right now for 2019 SS. I just purchased a 2019 jeep wrangler and it has this feature and I find it very useful as i also did in my previous 10 cars that had it. I don’t think it’s too much to ask to keep the technology we have/had and gain additional new technology. You very rarely have to give up something to get something new in today’s age , usually they build on previous technology and improve it not just eliminate it. really believe it was strictly cost cutting.
