Any option you like the looks of is worth putting on your car, now explain that to your wife.

I have a hard rubber wheel, gets very hot, very cold, and sometimes my grip is poor on it.

My Monte has a leather wheel, and again, not a fan in the hot hot days.

My shifter is the suede, and it honestly hasn't been getting terrible to touch in this 100 degree span we've been having. So I'm going to try the suede wheel to match. I keep my stuff clean, and even if it does get nasty in a few years, I'll just swap out another, or try leather. No biggie, they are cheap and seem easy to swap.

The "suede" provides better grip. Something seriously important on the track. The flat bottom prevents the wheel from bumping your legs.

They are super easy to take care of. Just gently rub them with a damp microfiber cloth once in a while and they're as goods as new.

The biggest advantage I can see if the increased leg room for taller folks. It make sit much easier for me to not only get in and out, but work rev matched downshifts which are a part of daily driving for me. Shorter people probably would not benefit as much.

Wouldnt have any other shifter/steering wheel combo. To me, Alcantara has such a nice feel to it. Never too hot, never too cold. It grips better and looks nicer.

Up keep is real easy, if you do it right from the get go and dont let it get bad.

After 2 yrs with my car, both the steering wheel and shifter look great.

My parts guy just informed me that he got it in stock, and he's dropping it off in the mail today. I'll hopefully have it this weekend.

Just swapped mine from the stock leather to 1LE wheel and was at the track yesterday. Much better grip than the stock leather. The flat bottom does provide more vertical leg room too. Worthy upgrade for the track IMO

My shifter knob is suede and it feels good. Doesn't get to burning temps even in the heat. Wouldn't mind at all getting the 1le wheel. Better grip and comfort

I have to assume "It looks cool" is the main reason people get them.

I'm also 330 lbs so I'd gather that my legs are bigger than yours. Never had a problem with the stock wheel but I do enjoy more leg room.
