Attempted Theft/MyLink not Working
I have a 2016 SS that someone broke into and tried to steal last night.
They were unsuccessful. When I got to the car, my driver’s window was broken, the info area near the speedo said theft attempted and the mylink screen wasn’t lit up and the dash lights were extremely dim. The car wouldn’t start and I had to jump it (drained the battery trying to start it, and this is why they weren’t able to steal it). I drove it back home and am trying to get everything back to normal today and the dash lights are still extremely dim and I can’t control anything because the mylink screen will power up when I turn the car on, but once I start it it all goes black. Pressing the power button does nothing. The radio works/phone is connected to Bluetooth, the screen just won’t display. Not sure if it’s in some sort of post-theft limp home mode? I checked the fuse box, and as I can tell, all the fuses are still intact. I just unplugged the battery and am gonna leave it for a while to see if that helps. Any ideas? |

just making sure, did you turn the knob for brightness to make sure it isn't that?

Assuming you're going to make an insurance claim for the physical damage, make sure to inform the ins co that various electronics are not working properly after the attempted theft. That way the ins should cover any problems, including replacement of MyLink, BCM, etc etc., and diagnosis by a GM dealer.
