Military member moving to California need info

I need some help, I have just been notified that I'm moving to California. I will keep my Texas DL and plates on the car. My car is Full Bolt ons with a stage 3 CAM and a Borla ATAK exhaust and high flow cats. So the question is, will I be able to drive my car in the state without any issues? Thanks for any insight.

If you get pulled over they most likely can’t do nothing about it since you still have your Texas plates and Texas drivers license.

Heading to the "cereal bowl" of our country....

Everyone in that state is a fruit, a flake, or a nut!

(Calm down... I'm only joking...)

Your car is registered in TX. You should be safe.

Your base MPs could make you get it corrected if are ever pulled over and question..most violations are reported to your chain of command .

I have a similar setup, except long tubes also. I haven't had a problem as long as I wasn't driving like a fool. There's lots of modded cars but the ones that have issues are the ones doing stupid things. All of the police officers I've run into love my car and how it sounds. Only struggle would be passing smog but you don't have to worry about that.

You will likely be held to California standards. Especially where emisissions standards are concerned. California is the Sierra Club wild eyed fanatic state.

Yeah I have long tube headers also, we are heading to the Dublin area. I would just hate to get there and not be able to drive or sell the car. thanks for the info

They can’t do jack as long as you keep your TX DL and tag. DO NOT tell the LEO that you’re stationed out there. You’re in Cali for a vacation, work trip, training, etc.

This will only work the first time, as there's probably a short time limit before registration becomes mandatory. At least this is how it's done here in Nanny Jersey.
